Sacramento's DEFTONES will be the featured guests on this Wednesday's (March 25) edition of the nationally syndicated "Loveline" radio show with hosts Stryker and Dr. Drew Pinsky.

DEFTONES will be joined by bassist Sergio Vega (ex-QUICKSAND) for the band's April 5 appearance at the Bamboozle Left festival at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California.
DEFTONES bassist Chi Cheng remains in a coma following a November car accident. He was gravely injured in a November 3 car crash in northern California and has not regained consciousness since.
The band said in an early February 2009 statement: "With the announcement of our appearance on Bamboozle, we felt like its time to address some things. First, Chi. Our fallen comrade has not made significant progress as of late, but continues to fight on from his accident. Doctors are working feverishly to return our brother to us, and we continue to hold out hope and faith that Chi returns to the life he has waiting for him and can join us on stage once again.
"For everyone that knows Chi, knows that he never wanted down time. Chi always wanted to keep working and never slow down, which is why we feel confident in returning to the stage at Bamboozle in April. Chi would want it, and we want to make sure we're keeping his legacy alive.
"Back in 1999, Chi had to leave the band for a brief moment and our close friend Sergio Vega filled in to keep the train moving. 10 years later, Sergio is going to step in once again while Chi is down. Sergio is family to us, and had received Chi's blessing before, so without a doubt we know that if Chi could tell us now, he would give us his blessing again.
"In the meantime, we continue work on our record, and as for Bamboozle, we felt like we needed to poke our heads up for a quick breath before we buckle down and get this record finished... So we'll see you all in Irvine."
Cheng is 38 years old and is a poet as well as a musician. He released a CD of his poetry called "The Bamboo Parachute" in 2000.
Cheng has been a member of DEFTONES since its formation in 1988. The band released its debut disc, "Adrenaline", in 1995 and scored a platinum record with 2000's "White Pony".

Little things like the B-sides CD where only Chi gives thanks to the fans... They have such a huge following of die hard deftones fans I feel they should embrace that a little more... I guess that's just the rock star attitude... I enjoy Chino's company only when he is with Team Sleep, Frank and Abe have been chill -- I've never met Chi unfortunatly... However a friend in San Jose served him and Chino, Chino called me from her phone and we spoke for a minute about the Taste of Choas show that night, Stef and Chino signed the receipt, Stef added his signature stoner smilely face with a joint in his mouth and Chino added his star... That was cool of my friend...

So in Stef's perspective I assume he got the wrong idea of me...
When we haven't heard from the Deftones in a while, I wish they would've done something other than Loveline. It isn't exactly the best place to discuss music or whatever. I've been waiting for this sucker for years, and they're on this show talking about prostates. They're buddies with the hosts, so they just showed up and hung out, but I'd like to hear them have a serious music interview.
I do think its encouraging that they're still putting songs together after they felt like they finished it last year. To me that means its gonna be a much more complete record. It would've been out sooner, but if they're writing more then the delays have more of a purpose.

Yes there has been a triple record, Sandanista! from the Clash. Great record though not as good as their previous work. After that it was all downhill.
We were talking about a double LP, like Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness, but maybe people thought we meant a double vinyl. We were primarily kidding about it(this is the Deftones here, every song takes a million years), but it would be a very pleasant surprise if it did happen.
whats funny at sharing lungs is that people more than often take every word u say a little too serious.if one would say "wouldnt it be great if eros was a box with 100 cds and every cd had 20 songs" some fuck face would say "hmm.. i dont know.. i like deftones but that would be too much songs to get into..i dont think it will happen"

Not you man. Some people mentioned the White Pony double vinyl. Was just clarifying was all.
Deftones should record a triple LP and leave fans satiated for a decade. Actually, if they did that, I'd probably get antsy within a year and say, "Wheres the next triple?"
