one month left.

i like the looks of the trailer. but somehow the music comes off way to positive and it doesnt have that scary ambiente.

im not saying a movie has to copie the book but i really liked that this was a book for kids that was scary. that made it different from most others

i like the uplifting adventurous tone of the trailer. looking back to my childhood i don't recall the book as being scary.

they put out a bunch of new posters for some of the "wild things".

this one reminds me of falcor with horns a bad wig :)

The point of WTWTA was not to be scary and it wasn't. I was never afraid of him.

ok ok i got a different impression when i read it again a couple of days ago. i mean, the wild things wanted to eat Max and they had sharp teath and were pretty big. probablly not scary, but at least eerie to me.

It might just have been my mom's attitude toward it.

why are people saying that his is a movie for hipsters?

because it is.  Karen O did the soundtrack, it's a supposed "art film", and because you don't live in America.  fuck off.

Yeah thank goodness this isn't really a true kids' movie, but more artsy. Also, Spike Jonze's other 2 directorial gigs (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) were art films, so we can assume this will be the same, maybe? I don't know I'm really looking forward to seeing it tonight or tomorrow.

i saw it. it was good. in a strange way i almost enjoyed the preview with that arcade fire song more than the movie itself.

it is good tho. but i was really tired half-falling asleep when i watched it

is it becoming overhyped there?

just like everything in the media, yes  :D

ok it is an art film. but just because it lures hipsters into the cinema, it doesnt make it a bad film or something.

as a hipster i understand a person who makes art for the sake of becoming famous, getting recognized etc. it has a very negative connotation for me. the hipster is in the mainstream and does not create anything new. he does art for his own well being, not for the art itself.

i just got back from seeing this and i LOVED it. beautiful pretty much sums it up. a couple scenes felt a little long and drawn out but besides that i have no complaints. definitly lived up to the hype in my opinion.
