The greatest prog-rock band ever? In my humble opinion, yes.
Albums like, 2112, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres and Moving Pictures are simply stunning masterpieces. But really, they've never made a halfassed album.
Geddy Lee is one of my favorite bassists (and vocalists) and Neil Peart is arguably one of the top 3 best drummers ever.

Share some love!
I fucking love Rush. I want to own all of their albums. Thanks a lot for the link dude!
Favorite albums are:
Moving Pictures
2112
Signals
If you get a chance to; see these guys live. One of the greatest concerts i ever went to was a Rush concert.
I wouldn't say they're the greatest prog band ever. I'vve gradually lost interest in them, i was really into them a few years ago. But i smack on my 2112 vinyl from time to time. definitely their best album if you ask me.
YES someone finally made a RUSH thread! Very cool! I recently got their album "Counterparts" and now I'm pretty much hooked.
LOL....My Junior year of high school,(1995),my print and graphics teacher played Rush all morning long while we worked. Awesomeness.

This is gonna rule!
Cool!
I'm a huge prog fan, mostly prog rock and metal and I love rush. Every single album up to Moving Pictures is a masterpiece, my favorite being either Permanent Waves or 2112 but I have to say for a band whose albums I love so much, I fucking HATE 90% of the shit from Signals or later. Even Snakes and Arrows just sounded full-blown gay compared to the 70's stuff.
Then again I dislike alot of 70's prog bands in the 80's. Genesis turned even gayer than Rush did.
BEST POWER TRIO EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha!
One of those bands that are still on top of their game for their age, and you can for sure tell how they have influence many contemporary progressive bands today... Their new material is really good! I cant wait to hear Clockwork Angels... I believe It's coming out January of next year? Havent heard any news of them pushing back the date.
I cant get into this band at all. But they are amazing.... I'll give them that. I guess I'm not a prog rock guy...

If it's their long songs that bother you, check out the album "Moving Pictures".

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. Not knocking their talent at all. Im well aware they are all Fantastic Musicians!!
I was just having a perv on the board, while listening to La Villa Strangiato and couldn't find any topics on here about this amazing band.
never been reconized by the media. Over 30 years of bending the rules of music and still they can't be touched. Each member is a master of their instrument(s)
Much respect for Neil, Geddy and Alex
I merged your post with the already existing thread. :)
Rush rules.
Whoops.
Cheers Bro.
yes, behind a lighted Stage is radsome (so Radical it's awesome). Even people that aren't into their music should watch it. I love the scene where a lady gets Geddy's autograph in a diner and totally stonewalls Alex.
Alex Lifeson is one of the most underrated guitarist's on the planet.
In my eyes they've never released a dud. Been given fuck all credit from the rock press.
Rush fucking rules. Personally I'm not too much of a fan of most of the albums after Moving Pictures, but I own every cd leading up to that one. Its a part of my collection im damn proud to have.
Rush are incredible. To stay so good for so long is remarkable.
Dude, check out Counterparts and Test for Echo. They're pretty rad rock albums
Finally got my Time Machine DVD yesturday.
Fucking awesome show. Caravan is wicked for a new song, so fucking tight.
And what can you say about 2112 and La Villa Strangiato. La Villa is my favourite rush song and they nailed it like a 2 dollar whore.
STILL the best band in the universe
Looks like Nick Raskulinecz has worked his magic again. Great new single.

Love it. I'm a little surprised they can still make an album this good.
