I just saw the pilot and this show looks hella promising.  I wouldn't say I'm hooked like I've been with say Dexter, but I'll definitely continue tuning in.

Haven't watched the first episode yet. But it looks like something i'll thoroughly enjoy. Buscemi is awesome.

very impressed with the first episode! i'm basically hoping we can get a sort of mini-Scorcese movie every week out of this.

it also reminds me of the great times I had watching Deadwood, where it's basically a fictionalized drama based on real people/events. I really hope they stick with the Chicago mobster storyline; I'm fascinated with that era in Chicago.

I just started watching this.  Finished ep 5 a minute ago.  I'm a fan.  Show needs more Omar Little.

Picked up on this show because of Buschemi and Michael Pitt. It has a very errie Sopranos feel to it. I've seen the entire Sopranos series a few times and have been able to pick up on a few plot points and twists in Boardwalk because of it. I maybe wrong but I feel 'Nucky's' and 'Jimmy's' relationship reminds me so much of Tony and Moltisanti. Anyways, can't wait for season 2 and some more 'Christian Conversion' :P.

This series kind of gets forgotten (by me, at least) because of the all around awesomeness HBO's broadcasted since the first season aired. But now you got me remembering the incredible shit that went down. I'm hoping for a much bigger role for Chalky White this season. And the half-faced sniper.

ask and you shall receive. I believe both characters will be huge this season. However, I'd put money on half-face not returning for a 3rd season... btw what part of Chicago you from?

I'm from the NW burbs, in Roselle. I'm currently in the city in Ravenswood, kind of near the Aragon Ballroom.

Nothing like opening a season with Chalky White and half a dozen KKK and a gatling gun.

I know!!! What threw me off was when Jimmy's mom told his wife about how when he was a baby she would kiss his "winky" when she changed him...she's a fucking loon.

I heard that and blurted out, "I guess that's cool". But yeah she's a little nutty. Buuut she's also got a nice bod.

Yeah a little slow at times, but I still love the show. Those last few episode got really good. I'm still in shock they pulled a Ned Stark though. Unbelievable.

I've heard the complaint of it being slow from multiple sources but I never feel that way when watching it. This was probably the best season of the Fall. It took me about a day to process the ending.

I see why the writers killed him off, his story was kind of wrapping up, or going its distance. I couldn't really see how he could have progressed more, with Nucky still around.

I'm really excited to see what Richard does next season in retaliation. That and how Van Alden moved to Cicero, IL, where Capone was based. Should be some really good Chicago scenes with them and Torrio and Luciano.

Definitely thought Manny would be around for the long haul. Holy fuck though, Richard is amazing. Also probably the only "good guy" on the show now.

Also love the Chicago parts. Now that O'Bannion is on the show, we're in for an awesome Irish/Italian war.

Hope not, Gyp Rosetti has quickly become my favorite character. Every scene he's in is hilarious.

And hopefully Mickey Doyle gets his next week. Tired of that inept buffoon.

Yeah good point his character is getting old.

dammit Rosetti survived.
Title: Re: Boardwalk Empire
Post by: bright lights, big city on Oct 15, 2012, 02:16 PM
Rosetti didn't bring the funny this episode, but jesus fucking christ, that last scene was so great. I knew something was up in the diner near the beginning when Rothstein's ears perked up when Rosetti told the paperboy Room 207.

Also, what the fuck Nucky? I'm getting tired of this Billie Kent affair (even if it allowed us one scene of Chalky White). She's not even good looking, he should go steal Katy from his Irish thug.

Umm Rosetti...I LOVE that kinky bastard. haha! Seriously,he annoyed me at first but aside from Al he is my favorite character. And Doyle for some fucking odd reason reminds me of Wimpy from the Popeye cartoons. His voice and face annoy the shit outta me,and I wish Richard had offed him a few episodes back.

Nucky is a dick, and I really wish they would kill him off. There are soo many more interesting people than him on the show,I don't think I'd miss him one bit. And what about previews showing that boy that looks kinda like Jimmy. I swear for some freakish reason I think Jimmy is pop up again. We saw the shot to the cheek, but what if Nucky didn't hit him with that last shot?? I'm just still pissed they offed him.

Last night was my favorite episode of the season. Loved finally seeing more of Chalky. And Richard looks like he gonna unleash his inner Liam Neeson in the finale. The only awesome character that's missing the party is Van Alden. I mean, even Al made the trip -

I'm finally caught up with this. Great show, and I'm looking forward to this coming season. (P.S wish the trailer was longer)

I teared up during that ending, I'll admit it.

On the other hand though, Chicago for next season just got awesome.

That last scene with Harrow was beautiful...shit, the whole ending montage was. It really was awesome how they showed Richard's though..taking that ride, seeing his face and seeing the ones he loved waiting for him. I think that is what death will be like. I hope.

This season was the best by far and can't wait to see whats coming next.

Definitely my favorite so far too. I liked Gyp Rosetti and most of the 3rd season, but this show just went to a whole new level.

This does suck and I'll miss it, but I guess it is best that they don't "pull a Dexter". Similarly, also heard another great show in Justified that it is ending after its next season. Guess there's only so much story to tell.

I have read about Terence Winter and Scorsese's supposed next show. Rock n roll drama and a collaboration with Mick Jagger. Hopefully on HBO.
