Title: Sharing a few DVD's
Post by: Vesanic on May 09, 2012, 09:15 PM
Not everybody checks out the Deftones Download & Request Thread II, so I thought I'd make a topic about this.

I've been feeling like sharing lately, so I'm dropping a few DVD's from my collection. Not that I have the biggest collection ever but I have quite some stuff you guys haven't been able to find online.

Trading is the only way to get rare recordings but I don't fully support it, so that's why I'm sharing all that stuff with you, without asking anything in return, except a little "Thank you", of course.  Don't ask me for mediafire links or anything, this will be via torrents ONLY. My connection is hella slow so I won't be uploading all that shit, torrents will have to do. Feel free to make requests, I don't know what I'll share next, so here's your chance, bring your ideas.

The following shows have been put up one DIME (http://hwww.dimeadozen.org). I'll put the next ones on the ZOMB (http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/), as there is no limitation in terms of number of memberships, you guys can all get on board, unlike DIME.

GENERATION : VHS(2)>DVD

Notes : One of my favorite Deftones shows. Nice list of songs played, including lots of mini-covers and Rickets, which was and still is a rarity on their setlists. Lots of funny moments, Chino with his destroyed t-shirt after Headup, then Chino getting a girl onstage to sing Keep On Loving You to her, stagedives, etc. Also, you can hear his voice was really dusty after the exhausting ATF tour but he still gave an awesome hardcore performance. Great performance from the whole band.

SIZE : 1,74 GB
LENGTH : 37:34 Mins

GENERATION : VHS(M)>Transfer>Authory>DVD

Notes : A pretty cool show. Footage of Chino with his dreadlocks is always nice to watch. Pretty wild performance, the sickest renditions of the songs from "Adrenaline" are usually from that era. A nice Bad Brains cover as well, they covered it quite a few times. Master tape quality. Definitely a gem.

Vesanic what can I say Bro, thanks for the gift. Really appreciate all you do for this site.
We don't always agree on things (Diamond Eyes: still think your nuts by the way), but I dig your passion and loyalty to our favorite band.

Cheers my friend!!

Thank you Vesanic! It's awesome of you to share such great pieces of deftones history with us. Through your recordings I've seen a completely different side of this band I've loved all these years! You've seen and heard it all from these guys, and you gain little in return the more you share. but to some people (esp. those who don't record concerts), it means a whole lot that you do! We owe you man, Thanks again!

Notes : This is, to me at least, one of the best Deftones shows of all time. People used to talk shit about the band during that era, saying their shows got sloppy and shit. I, for one, think some of the songs were deeper than ever during that era. Mascara and Digital Bath are great examples. The lights, the mood, Chino's passion, the performance of the band, everything was absolutely beautiful. I also think Chino's screams were more beastly than ever, they really had a special tone. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Master tape quality.

Thank you very much, Vesanic. You really know how to make Deftones fans happy...

A really cool outdoor performance right after ATF came out, great times... Would be extremely appreciated, if you upload that one on zomb, it's not a long show I think. :)

Notes : A show from the Taste of Chaos tour. "Saturday Night Wrist" wasn't out yet. This era is known for Chino's usually weak performances due to tons of things, mainly his noticeable weight gain, drugs, etc. These are still nice recordings and memories. How they fool around in the middle of "7 Words" is hilarious. Master recording quality. Setlist is pretty cool as well, "Rapture" has never been a frequent song, even during the promotion of "Saturday Night Wrist".

When you have finished a download, keep the torrent open so you can help other people download the files faster. Which means you'll be uploading instead of downloading, and thus, will raise your ratio.

As mentionned before, the show itself is amazing. Nice setlist with a tease of "Fist", the hidden song from "Adrenaline", which is my personal favorite. Some funny moments, especially Chino's crowdsurf during "Minus Blindfold". One of the biggest gems in their whole "liveography". Master tape quality. A must watch.

You now what, this shit pisses me off. My torrent program keeps saying that my share ration is to low.. Okay, there are ways to raise it. At first i tried to start previous torrents again that I fully downloaded already to upload something, which should raise my ration. Guess what, doesn't work. Then I wanted to upload something from myself, a new torrent appearently. Guess what, doesn't work either.
This is fuckin' hilarious, I'm like "Okay, Dime I am willing to upload shit" and then it says my FUCKIN USER CLASS is to low? Shit, are you serious??? This is so unfair, why won't it upload something? Always it's like "Damn leechers, give something back, man!" but on the other hand it's NOT POSSIBLE to do so? What is that ???
That shit is fucking ridiculous. :'(

Deftones
Wembley Arena
London
England
September 19th 2003
[DVD]

Notes : This is, to me at least, one of the best Deftones shows of all time. People used to talk shit about the band during that era, saying their shows got sloppy and shit. I, for one, think some of the songs were deeper than ever during that era. Mascara and Digital Bath are great examples. The lights, the mood, Chino's passion, the performance of the band, everything was absolutely beautiful. I also think Chino's screams were more beastly than ever, they really had a special tone. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Master tape quality.

Thanks to the taper of this show, whoever they are.

I was literally third or fourth dude through the door on that day, and spent the gig on the barrier, front center. It was amazing. A Perfect Circle supported too!!!  We were sat outside from about 12 noon just hanging. what a gig!!!! Hands down my favourite Deftones era, and one of, if not *the* best London show of the last 11 years.

Thanks so much for this rip!

I have a friend trying to get these for me (i'm not good w these things) he's having trouble too. Is this something that's naturally hard to do bc of how it's set up? Any tips I can get and use? If not, I understand. Don't want to ask for anything more than what youve already given me for links.... ???

DVD PROPERTIES :

SOURCE : Audience, center balcony.
GENERATION : Sony Hi8 TR-940 (w/ ECM-MS907 external mic)>VHS(M?)>TMPG DVD Author>DVD

Notes : This is definitely one of Deftones' best shows. This has to be a highlight of the House of Fur tour and their whole career. The mood is dark and insane, the crowd is totally into it, their performance is sick as fuck. They also open with "Damone", which is my personal favorite "Around the Fur" song. They would use Depeche Mode's "Pimpf" as the intro and that would totally set the dark mood of "Around the Fur".  I have no words for this show, you MUST watch it, period. I THINK this is from the master VHS, but anyway the quality is awesome.

commercially distributed material or leaks that would be unsuited for release aswell.

Deftones in High Places DVD
Entertain Me: A Film about Deftones

for example.

Notes : Pretty famous show. Chino was doped as fuck, the whole performance is messy and pretty hardcore. This is probably my favorite version of the Depeche Mode cover, straight up evil and filthy. The quality of the interview isn't as good as the rest of the DVD but it's still pretty cool. The best version of this show out there, pretty awesome quality overall.

No, making it a DVD wouldn't be worth it, the only version of the recording there is is webstream sourced. It's a proshot, but it's lossy at any rate.
