True. Porn is just glorified prostitution, and I guarantee you'll be searching a long time to find a prostitute that enjoys what they do. That said, for some reason I feel like the ones that eventually retire are the ones that do enjoy what they do. I agree with this and I don't. It's a complicated issue with me. True: A lot of female porn stars have been abused in the past and usually are lead down this path due to abuse. However, there are also a bevy of female porn stars that came from good homes and never suffered any type of abuse and still end up in the business because they genuinely like having sex on camera. I don't really like the fact that one half of the spectrum were kind of screwed up in the head when they made their decision to get into porn, but I'm not sure how many of them realize they made the decision to end up in the industry due to their abuse.
It is sad because these particular actresses end up getting addicted to drugs and go down an even rockier path. If the industry set up a program for these women to go to therapy, I guess it wouldn't be so skeezy and depressing. However, that would mean they would have to spend more money and risk losing talent if they work through their problems and realize porn isn't for them after all.
For me, I think it's the woman's decision if whether or not she wants to get into the business no matter what background she comes from. Like I said, this is a complicated issue and I think about this too when I watch porn. I remember a quote from Adam Carolla once saying that he hates all the daddys who ever abused their little girls, but without those horrible daddys we would never have porn. It's a depressing quote, but there is some truth to it.
