Hello! You may not know me, but I am not new here. I'm a long-time follower, but in fact I'm just a reader, not a "poster". And my english is not fluent, so, you know, but I guess you can understand me.
Anyway, I'm sorry if there is already a topic about that, I just can't find. If there is, please let me know. Here it goes:
I just want to know what is your favourite headphones, what brand, etc. As we getting closer to the release date of KNY, I want to hear it with the better possible quality. Of course I googled it, but I'm here to know your opiniom (does that word exist?). Thank you!
My favorites are the old sony mdr-2000.not easy to find these days though.ill stick with anything from sony, bose or akai.Sonys are the afordable route.Dre beats are a waste of money, unless you dish out for the pros, still overpriced though.Skullcandys are decent, but they don't last.you get what you pay for.
great! I've heard a lot about Bose. I will look for it! Thank you man!
Go for BOSE :-)
Studio headphones are far too expensive for me, so I usually stick to portable ones. I recently ordered the famous "Koss Porta Pro", which should arrive by tomorrow. Read many times that they actually come pretty close to actual studio quality headphones.
So far, I've been using the Sennheiser PX 100 II, which unfortunately broke a week ago. They were pretty good

ask here, great advice mostly
I got these about a year ago, and they were definitely the best $125 I've ever spent. Sooo clean.

If you want a cheap 'don't mind if they get chewed by the dog pair' I recommend the 'Ear Candy' in ear ones. The sound is really good and my current pair have been through the wash and came out in normal working order.
Sennheiser hd 205 closed ,my wife likes it a lot lol

Technics RP-DH1200
They still amazing but Im looking forward to change them for some Pioneer or give a try to Beats.
Yeah Beats are overpriced more of a fashion statement than serious headphones, apart from top studio ones. I had some of the Bose in ear ones and I wasn't very impressed with the sound it was all very clear and balanced but they had a low max volume and they didn't have the real high peaks and low drops the range was pretty narrow but I have heard the over the ear one's are really good.
I'm going to get some new headphones tomorrow I think i'm going to go for some Sony one's they've good reviews and are recommended alot probably going to get MDR-ZX600 or MDR-V55 any body had these before?
I've got the Studio Beats and they really sound amazing. I love the noise canceling, but they do leak sound. I've been looking the last few days at a pair of Sennheiser CXC 700's and a pair of Shure EC4's,I need a good pair of earbuds.
Can't really go wrong with Sennheiser and Shure, I used to use Sennheiser in ear ones but I fall asleep listening to music and they kept breaking so I've just been using cheap skullcandy ones because the sound quality's alright and and I don't care if they break. I got the Sony mdr-ZX600 and I like them alot they're good for the price they are very balanced not just bass heavy like alot of headphones these days so they're also good full all types of music, I was also surprised by how little sound they leak aswell considering they are not full over ear ones.
I like these:

Seriously? They look like scam
I just got some Skull Candy Uprock headphones for xmas. I've never cared for the name so I was prepared to be disappointed but they are actually really fantastic. Probably not the absolute best like Shure or Sennheiser like some of you have mentioned. But still really terrific sound quality, especially for the price.

After working in a shop that sells Beats and other headphones for two years now, I can tell you - Beats are really overpriced. I won't say they are BAD headphones, yes, they do produce normal quality sound, but we have a couple of options where you would pay a price that is 4 times lower than Beats (either Studio or Pro) and have a much better build and a much better sound quality.
And you know, people just keep buying Beats. Fashion..
i haven't certainly tested all the headphones in the world, but I'm certainly in love with my sennheiser hd280. The best headphones I've bought until now.

I bought my Beats 3 years ago, before it was "cool" to walk around with them on like jewelry. I've been very satisfied with the sound and construction of them, and have never had any problems with cords breaking (bose) or loss of sound,so that justifies the $300 I spent on them. But with that said,I need something more compact for an upcoming trip. Ended up buying a pair of Klipsch earbuds. Based on all the reviews they seem to be really great ear buds with stellar sound quality.
I agree that beats are retardedly over priced. I would never pay that much for them, however receiving them as a gift is pretty sweet.
Be careful with those Skull candy Uprocks jbpm, those are some fragile headphones, I went through 2 pairs before I just gave up with Skull candy. That flat "tangle-less" wire is a great feature but it will rip right out of the connector with the slightest bit of tug -.-
Yeah I usually just replace the cord if that happens to my headphones it's very handy knowing how to solder lol, I've had some Frankenstein headphones over the years made up of like 3 different sets of headphones.
I know how to solder, just never thought of that actually. Doesn't it decrease the sound quality?
Na not if you do it cleanly and use decent cord I usually just take apart the headphones and replace the entire cord straight from each speaker.

I like Sony MDR-V6 a lot. Great value for the money.
Been rocking Klipsch S4i Rugged buds for a bit! For their price they are without a doubt the best in ear buds for under 99 dollars. Still the best headphones I've used were a pair of Audio-Techincas and Bose QC15s. Also yay first SL post
Just got these bad boys in the mail. They put everything else I've heard to shame, frrlz.

How's beats solo? they've got 40 mm right? I just want the bass for my Reggae to sound great and both metal and reggae use the top notch production qualities and plenty of complex arrangements so I demand good quality to hear all the intricacies and instrumentation nicely.
i've been using the Sony MDR-V6's at home and when i'm traveling, been happy with them so far.

Was thinking of buying these to replace my V6's

Always go Sony, I say. Unless you can afford Dr Dre.
If you have the $$$, throw down for some Grado headphones. The best shit your money can buy. Be prepared to pay a chunk though.

I have some AKG studio headphones that sound great. Unfortunately, someone put a bunch of chewed up gum in my headphone jack on my computer, so I don't get to use them too often... I always feel like those dudes who walk around wearing over-the-ear headphone are massive assholes. My friend was driving home the other day and saw a kid wearing a pair walking down the street, and threw a small granite egg at the dude. He missed, but thought it was funny as hell
