Title: Explosions in the Sky
Post by: bewareofrats on Jun 14, 2013, 04:46 AM
This is a great, extremely talented band.  Their last album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care is probably their best album.  Certainly my favourite from what I've heard of them.  It's got many beautiful melodies and has a lot of more happy or uplifting sounds or whatever you call it.  I think The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place might be considered their best but Take Care has more standout moments and the slower moments are more interesting and enjoyable in my opinion.  Here's a couple of my favourites from it:

Explosions in the Sky - Trembling Hands (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F0QsjIflZw#)

Explosions in the Sky - Let Me Back In (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ5RUIeO-uk#ws)
The beginning of this one is oddly very creepy to me.  Probably one of the creepiest things I've heard in music.

Great band been listening to them alot recently, here's some stuff from another older album "Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever ", "Greet Death" reminds me of Blvd Nights by Team Sleep and I love the eerie string bend on "with tired eyes, tired minds, tired souls we slept".

This band is one of my all time favorites. Every album is worth listening, if you enjoy this type of music. I think they are cooking something new this year...

I was really into them around the time 'Take Care...' came out.
I saw them live in 2011: if you get the chance to see them, do so, it's worth every penny.
