http://www.fuse.tv/2015/11/deftones-paris-terrorist-attack-15-minutes (http://www.fuse.tv/2015/11/deftones-paris-terrorist-attack-15-minutes)

"UPDATE: Deftones left the following message on their Facebook page saying the band and crew are all safe and accounted for after reportedly leaving Paris' Le Bataclan concert hall 15 minutes before a terrorist attack:

"Thank for all your inquiries on our well being. Band/Crew all safe and accounted for at this time. Prayers for those affected in these tragic events."

Original Story: Members of veteran hard-rock group Deftones were reportedly at Le Bataclan, the site of a terrorist attack in Paris on Friday night (Nov. 13), 15 minutes before hostages were taken at the venue.

According to the L.A. Times, three members of the band and crew were attending the Eagles of Death Metal concert on Friday night, but left Bataclan 15 minutes before the terrorist attack began. Aaron Harris, who is drumming with the group, said that everything seemed normal at the show, but when he returned to his hotel after the concert, employees quickly brought him inside.

Deftones were scheduled to perform at Le Bataclan for three straight nights beginning on Saturday (Nov. 14). The members of Eagles of Death Metal escaped the terrorist attack, which reportedly claimed the lives of at least 35 people inside the venue.

French President François Hollande has declared a state of emergency for the city, and France's borders have been closed. Multiple terrorist attacks occurred in Paris on Friday night, including at a soccer stadium, although the Bataclan attack has the highest death toll."

Holy shit.

Just checked in to see if any news were involving the band, then I remembered the guys were supposed to play Europe in Oct and Nov - wouldn't have guessed they came so close to the tragical events. Good to know that EODM and Deftones managed to escape but really all my condolence to those who didn't.

I remember in August when I went to see Black Label Society in a similar venue I was very suspicious on a group of foreign guys carrying backpacks into the crowd for no apparent reason and it was seriously hot in the venue anyway. Luckily the guys were really enjoying the show (I could tell because they were speaking english with each other) rather than blowing it up, but this really sticks and this now comes to mind hearing from the shocking news. I think they were a group of bunched exchange students from near east that came to see a very good band and enjoy themselves, pretty much what these attacks seek to destroy now.

On the other hand you cannot always be sure to estimate anything. If you remember the Dime tragic that was uncalled for also so you cannot always blame safety measures if it is a one out of a million occurence.

That's very sad. My deepest condolence to the guy. Various Reports claim the Steph and Juan were there but left just 15 minutes before it happened. Vega tweeted they were all okay and Eagles of Death Metal members were taken off stage safely however not sure if their whole crew got out of it in time.

Truly an unpredictable and tragic event. I'm so sorry for those affected and wish everyone all the strength in the world to move on.

I highly doubt the band continues their europe tour. Their priority should be getting their families and friends back home safely.

Short interview/article Chino gave about it, apparently he's not sure whether or not they'll be able to get to Germany. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2015/11/13/deftones-lead-singer-sacramento-band-crew-safe-after-paris-attacks/ (http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2015/11/13/deftones-lead-singer-sacramento-band-crew-safe-after-paris-attacks/)

I would have probably tried to attend their cologne show if they would continue just to show some respect. But it is probably the best if their tour will be postponed to next year.

Yo guys,

Like Mr Vesanique, I'm French. Last time I posted here was when we were all waiting for Koi No Yokan to come out.

I have in my hand three tickets for the Deftones' show at le bataclan. One for saturday. One for sunday and one for monday.

I'm 39 and listening to the Tones since 1995. Been to their first show in France in october 1997 at le divan du monde. I have a kid who is born in October 2006. And for me, i remember listening to the leaked version of SNW in my car while I was driving towards the hospital where my wife was to give birth to him.

Today, I realize that life is short, that if terrorists had planned their attack 24 hours later, I would be in the same room than all the casualties of yesterday, locked with 1499 other Tones fans.

The Tones are my favourite band ( I know it may sound childish at my age), but their music is what corresponds me emotionally.

I didn't feel well today because all of this. And I'm shocked by what I can read on the ´Tones facebook page. I mean we're all Deftones' fans. But when I read "i hope You're safe Chino" etc... I feel like people think Chino's life or other member or crew is more important than lives from the guys who died yesterday. The Deftones' are allright. Their lives are neither least or more important than those of the guys who died yesterday. They are not some kind of divinities. They are humans, as you are, as I am.

I hope our politicians will stop speaking and take the right actions against terrorism. I hope Deftones will come next year in France. And I hope you will all take care of the ones you love. Because life is very short.

Sorry for my English. And can't wait to hear the new record from the Deftones.

And here are my last few words in French:

Vive la France, vive les Deftones et j'encule tous ces fanatiques qui nous font chier depuis que je suis né...

From what I've heard, the whole tour is off. They're currently on a flight to LAX.

... Unless of course they're planning on flying back later next week for London but I think it doubtful.

I tend to agree with the seperation but still one can say that they're relieved that they managed to avoid the tragic unharmed. It isn't meant to disrespect those who were killed.

Considering the believes of the terrorists they stated that they choose Eagles of Death Metal because they were in their eyes celebrating a pervert party. Reasons for that are typically they're using explicit american design, show off a nude woman that looks like a stripperess on their recent album release and promotion. It could very much be that on another day this could have been moulin rouge.

They also wanted to blow up Stade de France because they had a Football Match between France and Germany - from their perspective two crusaders.

The Rest may be too political for SL - In fact their believes have such an ancient backround that they haven't evolved the least from the past 1000 years and that says a lot. They reject all human progression and have made no intension to negotiate. They call themselves Islamistic State but have no infrastructure and other than warfare against "disbelievers" they show no form on how they'd run a state.

A state would have some sort of economy, socialology or political order - which doesn't exist for them. It is nowhere near the Islam that so many peaceful people have grown accustomed to but a new form that aims to destroy all kind of religions, ethnics and states all over the world. There's zero tolerance for such behaviour and in my mind they deserve a spot in a desert where they can punch themselves in eternity for their lack to form any kind of worth for this whole planet.

France has made clear that they either blow them to bits or sit them out on the moon for those disgraceful sick minded human genocides and scam legitimation of murder. The Terrorist bomb theymselves and were told that they get as much virgins as they are pieces afterwards to justify - what a misguided sect of fools.

Horrendous situation on Friday night. We had tickets for the EODM show as we arrived Friday evening for the 3 Deftones shows. We missed it as our flight was delayed!

We checked into our hotel, which is a 5 minute walk to Bataclan, at 9.25pm and all hell was breaking loose on the streets outside the front of the hotel. Armed police everywhere shouting at people running all over the streets. Then about 12 ambulances parked up outside which told me that they were getting ready to storm the venue. About 20 minutes later they did.

We are still in Paris until tomorrow when we fly to Berlin. Evacuated earlier on the tube due to a bomb threat. The presence of armed police and armed army on the streets was more noticable today.

RIP to all those who died at the gig.  :(

Glad to know you're safe, man. Be safe.

It's sad to see Paris being struck with these atrocities, from a political standpoint France is one of the few countries that focuses mainly on their issues and rarely interferes in international affairs.

From Deftones Facebook page

Hello-

To all in the UK and Europe, we wish to thank you for your understanding and patience.  We appreciate you hanging in there with us, as this has been a rather surreal period of time.

We're returning in June, and have been able to reschedule our recently postponed shows in London, Köln and Berlin during this time.  In addition, we will be pleased to rock some of our new jams, and most important to us, fulfill our commitments to you.

As far as Paris is concerned, we will have more information soon regarding our cancelled shows.  You are still very much in our hearts and on our minds.

The rescheduled dates are below, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored.  Looking forward to seeing and celebrating with you all!!!!

All the best!

-Deftones

Rescheduled dates:

3/6/16 – London, UK – The SSE Arena, Wembley
14/6/16 – Koln, Germany – Palladium
15/6/16 – Berlin, Germany – Columbiahalle
