Yes i agree the tuning is simply too low to sound nice clean.

It all depends on whether you get, really drunk Chino, or not quite as drunk Chino. On most occasions is always plastered and unintelligible.

Well that's what I heard in the interview from Chino ( I can't remember which one it was).
Probably, I remember reading about deftones sucking dick live, and someone was typing something about it. But Deftones live ... Well ,as you might suspect if you are familiar with the band's music, everything is downtuned in one way or another and can be really good sometimes, but generally he's absolutely terrible,
