Must be different for every person. Why dont you get some crazy ass looking moon or someshit on your other wrist if you want some oppisite. Just make it look weird and abstract and it would be sweet :).

for the full 12 hours it will cost me £700, so its best to leave a few months in between so I can afford it lol!

bad call on getting the g/f tattooed on you.. is it just a name or is it like a picture .. both are bad ideas.. and I hate tattoo artists that agree to doing tattoo's of gf's/bf's names/pictures because.. you never know what might happen in the future, and you will regret it later in life... the only womans name im going to get on me is my mothers.. and my fathers as well.. Blood relation should be the only allowable names/pictures to be tattooed, cuz they are with you for life

i got this back in september of a new orleans street lamp with "believe" on the sign.
i think belief in general is the greatest testament to the power of our minds and spirit longing...
im going to add an abstraction of a street scene below and around my back to the other side of my body. its going to be big and ridiculous and beautiful. just like i went with the sign, im going for a very sketchy, and authentic look. even formulating into as i have have already stated total abstraction. the whole thing (when done) is going to have a dissolving look to it as though the scene and figures are dissipating before your eyes.

The red was gonna be orange at first... but we ended up going with red for some reason. Kinda regret that now cos we found out I react with red pigment :/ It's been the only part that has actually scabbed so far and even though it was put in a year ago, I get dry skin over the top of it sometimes. No big deal though :]

Totally! Like there's this studio about 2 miles away that willingly tattoos underage and they hardly charge anything, and they have like this little gang of kids that are always in there :/ I've seen been in there once and the guy doesn't even put clingfilm down or anything - he tattoos straight off his counter and as a piercer myself it was pretty worrying watching that happen :[ ...though I wasn't a piercer at the time but I still knew it was a shitty place.
I pay £50 an hour [pretty much $100] which I think is reasonable but so many people look shocked when I tell them that - I tend to say the phrase "good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good" :P

I personally didn't find under my arm too painful at all :] Although the closest work near my armpit is about 2 or 3 inches away and even then it was just a bit of shading and some cherry blossom outlines. The worst for me so far was round the back of my arm, but I had a cold and achy skin on the day :P

the elbow was uncomfortable, but nothing in comparison to the close armpit area! (at least for me...)
I had the close armpit for one of mine and it hurt like fuck. Even my artist has unfinished work in that area 'cause it hurts so much.

ok, so this isn't tattoos that I have... yet. but I'm 99% sure I'm going to a tattoo studio on sunday and getting one or the other done. eventually I will probably get both. but it would be nice to hear some opinions before I do it.
so the first one is the heron from Faith No More's Angel Dust. I want to get it as close to the original picture as possible, and I will likely get it on my upper left arm. I have thought about ways to make that picture work as a tattoo for a really long time but didn't really think it would work, but this picture really inspired me and I want to get something similar (although, as I said, closer to the original picture and without the text):

yeah, the guy who did it is amazing with shading. I especially love the details on the head, particularly around the eye. it looks so realistic.
and yes, I'm perfectly satisfied with it like this, but I'm positive it'll be even better with colors. especially when he puts some blue in the shading of the wings.

haha. he shaved off the hair where he was gonna put the tattoo and now I'm actually a bit worried that the hair is gonna be really noticable when it grows back. I have really light hair so you usually don't even see it, but against a dark tattoo that'll probably change... oh well, guess I'll just have to start waxing my arms!

I think you should be fine as far as it coming back. It takes a few shaves for it to be noticeable,and because you have light hair I think you'll be fine. The camera always intensifies things,so it's probably not even as noticeable as it seems in the picture. I know every time I get a tattoo and they shave me I get nervous of it growing back darker or thick. haha
I've got a few ideas of things I want,the main one is two koi and a lotus flower on my back,but that's gonna cost big money,so I'm waiting. Thought of getting something similar to this

So basically, I'm getting my first Deftones tattoo in 2 weeks time and I wanna see what you guys think.

Basically I want to get this as a start of a half, maybe full, sleeve.

My left arm and shoulder are full of colorful flowers, among which roses, daisies, lilies and a hibiscus. It's really beautiful and I've been getting a lot of positive comments on them lately. :D
Saturday, if my medical check-up goes well enough for me to soldier on then, I'll be getting a silhouet of Chi on my right shoulder. It's got a special, rather spiritual meaning to it for me, which I would rather keep to myself. I'd like to post the pic, though, as soon as I know how to. :P
