Title: mewithoutyou - sept 26th
Post by: skinnypuppy on Jul 09, 2006, 09:41 PM
I know there are some mwY fans here, so I thought I'd tell you their new album "brother, sister" is coming out sept 26th. Aaron, the vocalist, said he thinks this new album is going to alienate all the fans that want them to be more agressive like their first cd (A to B Life) since there's no distortion on any of the songs, and there's a lot more singing. I've heard about 4 new songs, and I can safely say the new material is the best they've ever done; with or without distortion or agression.

Here's one of the new songs that they played at cornerstone last week:

I heard one new song, a live clip on Youtube, don't remember the name, but it was beautiful as hell. Of course i'd love it if they went back to their more agressive style (a to b life), but i have to remember they are also amazing when they go soft (ex: Son of a Widow, beautiful song that can make me get chills).

Hope the album leaks soon ... Can't wait to hear it. This is indeed an amazing band.

I'm always hearing good things about this band, but i've never heard anything by them.

Any chance you could upload some of their albums, skinnypuppy?

January 1979 was such a good song but I felt the rest of their latest cd didn't sound as great as that song.  Still, I'm interested in what they are going to do next.

My favorite songs on that album are: "The Sovjet", "My Exit, Unfair", Four Word Letter, Pt 2", "Paper Hanger" and the amazing "Son of a Widow".

once I get home, I'll upload their two albums and one ep. I personally hated their last CD, but now it's one of my favorite albums ever made.

That's a great song.

Watching the video though, they have got to be the weirdest band admitting that they are a Christian band.  Or with Christian beliefs or whatever bands want to say these days.

I think their new cd will put them into the big time.  Not sell out but be well known for making good music.

I liked this band before and then I stopped listening to them. Now hearing this new song, it makes me feel like they are actually trying to do something with their music instead of just trying to be fashionable.

I love the fast that the singer said that even you don't believe in god, he still wants us to hear. I felt something special after listening to the song.

After reading that i'm really, really, REALLY excited about the new album !

I don't mind them getting softer, as long as his lyrics are ace as usual. And that video of A Seater Poorly Knit is amazing ! Loved it !

I listened to Catch Us To Foxes (or whatever it's called) last night and I think you're right Skinnypuppy, it's a record that takes a lot of time to get into. I am starting to like it more and more.

I listened to the albums and I have mixed feelings.
I must say that the lyrics are wonderful and very well written.

I was a little put off by the screaming cause I wasnt expecting it at all. I thought it was a more mellow indie orientated band.

Overall, not bad at all, I just have to give the albums some more time to sink in.
Title: Re: mewithoutyou - sept 26th
Post by: skinnypuppy on Jul 13, 2006, 06:51 PM
first EP = almost-screamo-like band
first album = post-hardcore
second album = alternative rock
soon to be third album = possibly mellow indie / rock

the band has a lot of different genres in it. if you want more melow indie rock oriented music, listen to catch for us the foxes, their second album.

What's difficult about Catch For Us The Foxes is the music combined with Aaron's vocals.  I like both types of genres but the first few listens they don't seem to fit together that well.  It takes some time to get used to.

The new stuff I think will be really good.  That video you posted was just amazing.

I have the same feeling, man. That harpe(sp?) sounded beautiful and fit so well with the music. And why the hell do you have minus in karma, Defskull? We're gonna change that.

As Skinnypuppy mentioned, this band has a lot of diversity and different feels and genres, and i fucking love that. This band is amazing. Great vocals, lyrics, guitars, bass, thier drummer rocks ... What's not to love?

Aaron's collab on "Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste" is great as well.  I'd like to hear him guest on other band's tracks as well.  He has such an original sound.

And yeah, man that bass in "January 1979" is awesome.

every song on catch for us the foxes makes me feel something special, and disaster tourism is in my top ten all time songs.  aaron weiss has a woooonderful style, even though i hated it at first.

The best mewithoutYou CD by far....at least for me. I appreciate Ben's rip, but yeah, the quality isn't the greatest, eh? But, the CDs going to be so much better now. Can't wait to buy it.

It was awesome ! Fucking sweet !

I loved it entirely. It actually fits them very well that they turned a bit more Folk. His way of doing the vocals is very unique. But, a lot of the verses sounds very much like some on Catch for us the Foxes. And it somehow annoy me. As my brain starts playing the song it reminds me of in my head. I loved the - Spider tracks. They were cool. All in all, a great album by a great band.

8/10

Favourites:
Wolf am I ! (and Shadow)
In a Market Dimly Lit
A sweater poorly Nit (I knew it would be beautiful as hell when i saw it live at YouTube ! Though i miss the 'I do not Exist' part, oh well ...)

Your uploaded version of 'Brother, Sister' is missing a track. Didn't notice it till today. The missing track is 'O Porcupine'. I found another upload which features this song.

You can get it here, people. http://heartcore.ru/downloads/

i've heard Jon talking about this band a lot. i never listened to them though, i just trusted his judgement and if people asked me about them or mentioned them i would just say, 'oh they're great' hahahaha two people have asked me about them and i think they're like, huge fans of them now.

i am so checking them out though. i like religious people. they have this spirit in them that is not like other people's but they must not be so obviously religious because marty likes them and i have heard him say that he doesn't like blatantly religious songs.

should be good though. i read the word 'folk' around so i will make it a priority to listen to those uploads.

awww, mazzy <3

I broke down and listened to this album's leak. I feel bad for doing it, but I knew I was going to buy it day-of release, so it technically didn't matter either way.

Anywho, I've said in the past that seeing EItS was a religious experience, and seeing Radiohead live was like a near-death experience.. well, I felt the presence of God while listening to the new mwY album. Hands down, the best record I've ever listened to in my entire life. I didn't think music could be this good.

Not sure if you people know this or not, but the vocalist of Sunny Day Real-estate does guest vocals on two songs; The Sun and the Moon & O, Porcupine. I'm not a huge fan of the first track, but porcupine is one of the most amazing tracks on the album due to the guest vocalist. He compliments Aarons vocals perfectly in the song and adds a whole new level to the melodies layered all over the track.

I do mean that. Even though Aaron includes lines that are from biblical stories, i don't feel that he is trying to push his beliefs down my throat.

I'm puzzled that Skinny feels the presense of 'God' at a concert or when listening to the new MWY album. But, everyone has the right to name their feelings what they want. Some name them happy, some sad, some excited and some name them 'God'.

Well, you see, I've never been the type of person that can go to church and feel something. I see people faint at church and I'm like 'you've gotta be kidding me' - ya know? It's like, what makes them feel that way? I've never felt that way anywhere, let alone church. But lately, I've had such intense concert experiences with explosions in the sky and radiohead, and now with this mwy album, that I sorta get what people call 'religious experiences'

And with this specific album, it was like there was a higher presence involved almost, because there was SO much going on musically, and in my head.

But, why instantly name that feeling 'God'? Why can't it be toxins and other brain-triggered senses?

I get goosebumps when listening to certain bands. And i feel happy. But, i would never name that feeling 'God'. That feeling is mine, and mine alone. 'God' has nothing to do with the feelings i experiense when listening to music. And i'd like to believe, that if there was a 'God', he would be beyond music experienses.

Besides, your 'God' did a total of 6 days work for you. And that was it.

i don't know if you've ever been to a Polyphonic Spree concert but let me tell you, God was in the room.

God is just there. it's up to the individual to believe or not. either way no one is going to hell for not believing. there are more reasons to doubt than there are to believe these days. i believe very strongly. i believe it all. i acknowledge everything beautiful around me as God's work. by everything around me, i don't just mean music, it's the sky, kindness, this earth. that's God to me and i'll bloody not accept anything otherwise. God is beautiful. it's human's who are tarnished and who ruin what God is to ourselves. we seek to destroy when we can cherish.

i wonder, since we're talking about God and any member of mwy will find this conversation interesting, what is it that you don't believe in Marty? is it God? or is it the foundation in which religion is based upon? i don't believe in most things presented by my religion but i do believe that God is love and as long as you love and you are kind without having an agenda, God won't discriminate, no matter what religion you follow. even if you don't believe in God, God believes in you.

i don't care if that sounds dorky but since i believe there is a God, i would like to think God believes in me.

Both. I find it very utopic. And i dislike people gving 'God' credit for when they feel good or have accomplished something, wether it be a new job or a win in the lottery.

But, that's me. 'God' hasn't done anything for you. Everything in your life is a foundation of freak circumstances. Nothing happens for a reason. And 'God' doesn't work in mysteries ways. He has never been here. He will never come here. He has been made. It's like believing in Harry Potter for crying out loud.

To me, the majority of 'Religion', is nothing but horror, terror and submission. Just read the old bible. 'God' says that those who do not believe in 'Him' should be killed. Then they changed the old bible, and made it more mainstream, so to speak.

I wish you could live for youselves. Believe in yourselves, instead of relying on a higher power that has never been there for you, never done shit for you, never helped you, or helped the world he created. He did 6 days of work for you. And that's it. He left you sailing in your own sea.

No offense, guys. I love you all, and i respect your opinions. I just sound more judgemental than i really am.

see i don't believe that for a second, that God doesn't care for me. i think God cares for all of us. God didn't make religion, it was made by humans to segregate each other. you have to have known that. and since humans invented religion they also invented 'horror, terror and submission' that's what i truly believe. we have all had ancestors who were killed for their different belief in what God is and by calling God by a different name and you would think we would have learnt our lesson.

i have a lot of Atheist friends who don't believe in fate and that everything is a circumstance. sometimes that's so, but sometimes something happens that just makes it impossible to believe that it was anything besides God smacking us across the head and telling us to wake up and live our lives a little more differently. i think God is here for all of us and if you have faith God is visible inside you. and the bible is a great read, most of it is beautiful and then you have the other side of beauty that is not so pretty. i don't for one-second believe that anyone who doesn't have faith in God goes to hell or should be killed. God gave us freewill and with that freewill you do what you want and that's exactly what you're doing, you're choosing to not believe and i think God would be proud that you are using what you were given: freewill. it says a lot of things about baptism as well, that if you are not baptised you will automatically go to hell. i don't believe in an afterlife, i think that this is just it. there's nothing afterwards but if there is, i hardly think that God is going to sit there and send people to hell because they have not been dipped in water or those who didn't believe.

that last part about living for ourselves is selfish. if you don't want to live for God, you could live for the rest of humankind. some people don't believe in themselves and they hate themselves and knowing that God believes in them and that they are alive for some crazy reason helps them do the simple task of living that they find so unbearable. not everything can be given to us. we have to go through surmountable pain to get what we want and to get to where we have to be. if life was simple and easy i don't think i would have faith strong enough in God because i would be complaining that life was too simple and easy, that we just got what we wanted so effortlessly and that believing in something i couldn't see and touch was too much trouble. i have all the respect for you, for your beliefs and i'm not trying to make you see 'the light'. i have no doubt that you are a kind, intelligent human being and anyone who tells you that you are going to hell tell them that God said 'go fuck yourself!'

well i'm glad we got that out of the way. you can go back to being my bitch now.

I want any new mwY songs so much.

I'm so into them now.

I highly disagree. A to B life and Broter, Sister blows them both out of the water. Musicalwise as well as lyrical. :) But, it's all just personal opinions.

self impressed by how well I can put myself down!!
and then go again, tot he next further removed level
of that same exact feigned humility!!

this for me goes on and on to the point of nausea

shadow am I!
like a suspicion that's never confirmed

Wolf am I!

no, "shadow" I think is better,
as I"m not so much something as the absence of something

No. That image is from Halloween 06 in Pomona - I was there :)  Amazing show, might I add. Much better than the Hollywood show.

If I haven't mentioned it already, "Brother, Sister" is the best album ever made, and I'm not one to make such crazy statements as that. Trust me, do yourself a favor and buy this album.

I more-less agree. Although a to b life is what got me into the band, it's no longer my favorite album. Brother Sister>Catch For Us>A to B.

Brother, Sister bleeds into Catch for Us beautifully.

Isn't it "there I go showing off again"?

I think I have Norma Jean to thank for my love of mewithoutYou. Aaron is just amazing on "Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste".  That got me into them then.  Brother, Sister has to be their strongest release by far. Catch For Us The Foxes just seems like such a weak release in comparison.

Of course, but the crowd is a big part of mwy. If Aaron isn't 'feeling it', he wont put on a great show. Hopefully this will draw in a lot of mutual fans of sparta and mwy to generate a good show.

MeWithoutYou rocked hard last night!

It was an amazing show. Aaron was totally into it. Being overwhelmed with joy that so many came to see them and enjoyed them so much. The entire band just dived into their music and delivered and experience of a life time for me.

The only big minus, would be that they didn't play any songs from A to B Life. I really wanted to hear Gentlemen. So I was quite bummed out. BUT, the songs they played from Catch for Us the Foxes sounded really awesome, I was quite surpriced about that.

Talked a bit with Aaron before and afterwards, he's a really nice, pleasant guy. Gonna upload ome shitty cellphone pictures later (was too afraid of bringing my camera).

Anyyways, Even though my left ear is ringing like a bitch, I'll def. give this show 5 out of 6 Lips.

I'm still so damn bummed that I didn't bring my camera. I only have a goofy picture of me and Aaron (doing the peace sign with his little smile) and a few bad cellphone pictures.

At one point, he sang an entire verse with his t-shirt pulled up, covering his head. I badly needed my camera at that point !

Hahahahaa awesome

I spend too much cash on MWY. I'm gonna have to take a train up to San Diego, rent a hotel, then take a train back for the two Soma shows. It'll be worth it though. I might be too exhausted to hang out and watch Thrice and Brand New for all the shows, even though I adore both bands. I'm hoping the crowd will be acceptive of MWY and dance around.

I couldn't agree more. Last year, MWY was keeping my mind alive. They made me think, they made me look for more in life, they helped me understand love and human emotions and God and faith better than I had ever understood it before. I didn't think music could touch me or anyone that way...

mewithoutYou will enter the studio in August to begin recording their new album, here's what they had to say about the effort:
"the band has been working hard at writing some new music that we hope will become our new album. I think it's been going quite well and for that I am very grateful. New territory, old ideas coming back, one less member, different producer, working in Philly, learning how to play all over again, hopefully a lot of help from our friends. that's the vibe so far. As of right now anything goes down there in the basement and it's just the way I like it! we'll see where inspiration takes us this time. We are planning on beginning recording sessions at the start of August and that is that friends."

bump mewithoutYou thread.

i've upload one of the most intriguing mewithoutYou shows ever (mp3 / VBR / V0)

mewithoutyou
June 23, 2008
Cleveland, OH
Grog Shop

As will quickly become apparent when listening to this show, this was a rather unique night.
The bass player had a family emergency that day and had to fly home, so that left the band
without a rhythm section for this show, as the drummer depends on the bass to keep rhythm.
So, they played with what they had, vocals, guitar, keyboard, and minimal percussion. As
you can tell from the setlist, they played lots of unrecognizable songs, perhaps new
material on a forthcoming album? I did the best I could with it. The Grog Shop has an A/C
system on the ceiling that has vexed me in previous taping attempts. It completely ruined
one recording, pumping out a strong wind into the mics every few seconds. I learned from
that night, and thought I was in the right spot for this show, as I could not feel the air
on me at all. Well, turns out the mics picked up what I could not feel, as there is a
*slight* bit of wind noise on this recording. But, it's nothing major, and is only really
apparent between songs when there is only crowd chatter/talking. Even then, it's not too
annoying. Aaron seemed worried we would all be disappointed and would want refunds due to
the lack of loudness in the music and the corresponding "non-entertainment" we
experienced, but I don't think there was a single person in attendance who didn't enjoy the
great, unique show they put on. Enjoy!

Setlist:
1. Yellow Spider
2. talking
3. unknown song?
4. talking
5. A Glass Can Only Spill What it Contains
6. talking
7. Messes of Men
8. unknown song?
9. talking
10. January 1979
11. talking
12. unknown song?
13. Orange Spider
14. talking
15. Son of a Widow (false start/partial song)
16. talking
17. unknown song?
18. talking
19. In a Sweater Poorly Knit
20. unknown song?
21. talking
22. unknown song?
23. Brownish Spider
24. talking
25. The Dryness and the Rain
26. C-Minor
27. Sisters of Mercy (Leonard Cohen)
28. talking
29. Torches Together
30. My Exit, Unfair
31. talking
32. unknown song?

I only got through one or two new songs, but those are definitely bible songs.

Aaron always has low self esteem, but it's odd hearing just how low it is in his voice. it's both endearing and sad.

i know what your saying.

but then on the other hand he is SUCH a free spirit, and in being that he is most "resolved" within himself. and seems assured in his promise of God and Love. i tell you he has a good God thats the truth, not this fear based religious view, but the one jesus spoke of, as love and God whatever he is, is only a loving god and cares not wat you have done.

my belief is in everything. thats god. the higher function of the cosmos that we have yet scaved on, the compliance of energy on a supra-molecular schema.

I can openly admit that Aaron gave me a new lease on life, or rather, not Aaron, but what Aaron believes, and what he showed me through the way he lives his life.

I'm going to get "I do not exist" tattoed on my left wrist and "only You exist" on my right. Both lyrics will be entwined in a rotting tree on my left to suggest absolute surrender/sadness, while the right suggests true love in everything with a colorful blooming, full of life tree.

yeah, I always thought 'I Never Said I Was Brave EP' was the first one, but all of the sudden this shows up..
songlist:

1. The Comfort You Give is Only Torment
2. Flamethrower (<-- even though it's on 'I Never Said.. EP' too)
3. Working in a Factory
4. There is Hope for a Tree Cut Down
5. I Dare You to Pick Someone to Fight Me (Knife)
6. A Song for Rapists

I do not know whether or not to believe this. It says there were like 50 of CDs (?) out.. I don't know.

i remember hearing that some of the old members of mewithoutyou (i know they've had a few escape here and there through their legacy) -had other bands so maybe thats one of the other band's offerings including the flamethrower. those song titls just dont sound like aaron.

last.fm;
The band was originally conceived as a side project. The Weiss brothers and Kleinberg were playing together in another band called The Operation (who released one album, 2001's There Is Hope for a Tree Cut Down, on Takehold Records), but Aaron wanted to start another band to experiment with new sounds. After picking up Rick Mazzotta on drums and Ray Tadeo on bass, Kleinberg and the Weiss brothers released their first EP (I Never Said That I Was Brave) in 2001 and shortly thereafter signed to Tooth & Nail Records after a show at Cornerstone Festival the same year.

Around this time Tadeo had moved on, Daniel Pishock picked up as the bass player, and The Operation disbanded soon afterward. mewithoutYou's debut full-length album, [A→B]: Life, was released in 2002. The band garnered more attention for their sophomore release, 2004's Catch for Us the Foxes, which was produced by Brad Wood (The Smashing Pumpkins, The Fire Theft). In December of 2004 Pishock had made a decision to retire as the bassist for the band and former Operation frontman, Greg Jehanian, was selected to replace him. In 2005, mewithoutYou won mtvU's "Left Field" award for most original artist. Their third album, Brother, Sister, again produced by Wood, was released on September 26th, 2006.

I just cannot compare Catch for Us the Foxes, [A --> B] Life and Brother, Sister. They're just totally different, of totally different but same good quality. I really love how the band evolves, and this album could be just a random album of christian folk (which would not be too unexpected), I'll love it nonetheless. Cause it's f-king mewithoutYou, the best band in the world.

First of all - to all of those that wish for Aaron to scream.. yes, I did always want more songs with screaming, but both 'A to B Life' and 'Catch for Us the Foxes' are full of that, full of heaviness, and I think if the band would repeat themselves in every album.. then what good those albums would be?

I love 'A to B Life' for the organic noisiness of it, screaming, the emotion.
I love 'Catch for Us the Foxes' for the beautiful song structures, guitars, emotions, some screaming, thoughtful lyrics.
I love 'Brother, Sister' for the happier and lighter sound, thoughtful lyrics, song structures and, once again, emotion. And more introspective way of music creation. And some humor, obviously.

To sum up what I mean - they're evolving from a wide open noise unit with unique screaming and music into a warm honest personal band for everyone. That is a good thing. They're maturing as people, Aaron is maturing as a thinker and a writer, losing much of the anxiety of when he was young. I could even describe this album as the most user friendly of mewithoutYou. And they still managed to charm me with the emotion of their depth, only through different ways than the usual - and that is praiseworthy. I, myself, love the bands that represent much more than their typical 'they-play-this-and-this-stereotype'.

As to talk about the songs itself..
first of all - the movement to folk was not unexpected, my expectations were associated with this acoustic sound that they achieved, so I hadn't been let down.

Major standouts?
Obviously, 'The Angel of Death Came to David's Room'. I shattered in emotion at the breakdown, which was naturally unexpected. The best song in the album, I suppose.

You can see songs like 'The Fox, the Crow and the Cookie', 'A Stick, a Carrot and A String', 'Fig with a Bellyache' and 'the King Beetle on a Coconut Estate' as the "spider songs" of the new album. All mostly acoustic, with recurring themes and soundscapes. Summerish acoustic goodness. They're enjoyable in music and also in a storytelling way.

'Fig with a Bellyache' did astonish me in it's own way, I waited for a major breakdown (like in Angel of Death), but did not find it. Yet it still pleasured me well. Maybe even the LACK of the breakdown where I was looking for it made it even better as an experience.

To comment on 'Bullet to Binary (pt. two)'.. First part of the song was really odd and honestly I did not like much, but then the other part kicked in and changed it all.. this song also stood out in the album. Overall the album is not designed in some special way.

Naturally, there are some disappointments. First of all, lyrics seemed more god-centered - I mean, this time Aaron names the gods, straigthly. This, in a way, destroys one of their main traits I love - the possibility of an open and intimate interpretation. Cause I'm an agnostic, but the lyrics are still touching in a personal way.

Then.. some loss of expermentation. To be honest, I think there are a bit too many acoustic guitars here.. I'd like to hear more good old distortion with some reverb as in Catch for Us the Foxes, but this is - once again, my personal feel and struggle for them to revert to what they were - to personally get another 'Catch for Us the Foxes'. Also.. I sense no longing in this album. mewithoutYou - to me personally, was always about longing - personal feelings, and here.. that misty horizon of hope is not apparent here.

But generally the album impressed me - of how the band evolved, how they can use different techniques and ways of expression. And in echo to Zevaka's post - no, I wouldn't say 'goodbye, mewithoutYou'. I'd say 'goodbye, old mewithoutYou'.

First listen - a good go. Now I will wait for the good rip. And I will obviously buy the cd itself. Cause it's goodness - it's mewithoutYou.

cool

I was hooked from the opening song. "Every Thought A Thought of You" has been listened to 7 times already.

yeah, I wanted to mention "Every Thought A Thought of You" as a honorable mention (lol) too, but generally everybody is into it.. dah, well, at least the people that like mewithoutYou are very much into it.

you made some really good points man.

i do agree on the disappointments. i definitley do not feel the same tense emotion that i love.

i like having the optimistic energy and vibe, but i do miss the angst ridden hollers and distortion.
they have made a good album that is very different from the previous, but ultimately im not sure i will ever be as into it as the others...

also, the "God" aspect is driven way too deep. the songs seem too "praise-y" and it loses the mystery of striving for God. it lacks the edge. and i agree that im not into this aspect at all. i've always loved mewithoutyou (and still do) for being who they are. if they were not a christian band, they would not have the same impact and passion. but some of the songs honestly sound like church songs for 6 year old kids...

i found this cd very disapointing...

i agree with some points you both made. i don't like the new sound really. its to happy folkish. as opposed to the heavier darker folk influences. but the vocals are the worst for me. he sounds to content. i loved the desperate, lost, urgency his singing had before.

and i definitly agree that "allah, allah, allah" sounds like a song written for children to sing-a-long with at church.

I decided to only listen to this through the headphones. with exceptions for Angel of Death. Cause I realised new album is the 'happy-christian-folk-on-drugs'. I can't let my friends or parents think I am totally crazy. I'm crazy enough for them.

i parallel with you on that! its exactly what i hear in the music.

"a root-beer float in a banana boat on a tapioca sea"

i am really enjoying this album for the most part. a few of the songs are weak though IMO. the sing-a-long is driven overboard on too many of the tracks! the lyrics are amazing too.

"fig with a belly ache"

the camel in the desert took a ship across the lake
while the fish in search of water found a fig with a bellyache
who overheard the waves as they headed for the shore
"we're not so sure of separations anymore."

at the caterpillar picnic, brother butterfly stole
a rhubarb stem, licked and dipped it in the sugar bowl

caught up for Massachusetts in a double-stacked train
through the adirondacks spinning like a weathervane
gathering and cutting and splitting and stacking the wood
our fuel is neatly piled and we all feel good

we pretend to care and like we understand, our eyes go soft but know it now -
what we're thinking about is your mammary glands and how to sail your birth canal
we found the pot that fit the lid no less now then when we were smarter did
our thoughts are like a tea bag on the saucer, all the flavor gone

that dog below our waist aroused, when arms embraced the pretty gals
it came much more as a surprise, it happening when i hugged the guys
we planted for the final frost, we once were found and now we're lost
we got a heck of a lot to learn, no doubt the meeting has adjourned

FYI guys...

tooth and nail has a pre order up with a journal
smart punk has a pre order up with tea bags (?)
and burnt toast is selling the vinyl and probably has a few test prints available still (limited to 25)

I'll probably go to a record shop this week to sell some albums to have enough money to buy the tea bag pre-order.

I finally got this cd and I'm actually really enjoying it.  Granted I did hear the criticism of Christian folksiness from you guys but I'm liking this release.  It's very calm and mellow.  Sure it's not the same as mewithoutYou has been in the past but they're still able to put out a great album.  I'm happy with my purchase.

saw these gyus for the second time last night! and man, was it exhilerating. the venue was a tad hot and i made myself sick dancing, jumping, and thrashing so hard, but i cant help myself it's mewihtoutyou, -everytime i hear them i lose control. the only drawbacks were the sound guy having some obvious problems in the begining of the set, and the little kiddie factor, --all ages shows are gaaaaaay..

forget the mess of things, but these songs im sure they played;

torches together
january 1979
tie me up, untie me
leaf
disaster tourism
seven sisters
four word letter (pt2)
messes of men
a glass can only spill what it contains
c-minor
in a sweater poorly knit
the fox the crow and the cookie
goodbye, I
bullet to binary (pt2)
timothy hay
cattail down
the beetle king on the coconut estate
allah! allah! allah!

note; the encore went -beetle king, messes of men, then in a sweater poorly knit.

this was one of the best shows ive been to hands down. im still a mess from it! better than the last time i saw them -of course then they had opened up or thrice and brand new...

I'll upload it for ya. I think they sold out of them really fast. It's about 16 of his demos. Most of the tracks are, or were, on his Myspace, plus a few new ones!  It was burnt onto a blue cdr, with a cardboard case, plus a quote handwritten by him and or his girlfriend (who is also on the cd)

I saw him outside the show yesterday and told him how much I enjoy his solo material. he had such a huge smile on his face. I think even the best of musicians need to be told every once in a while that their music means something to someone. Otherwise, how do you even know if it's good? he was VERY appreciative of my comments, it seemed. Brightened my night, to say the least. He was in a great mood. He said a lot of people have said he should go on a mini tour and put out a mastered / final copy of the album on a label.

yeah, dude, it's all fun and games :-)

however, since this summer I will go to Malta to rest from endless struggle in LYFE; I might not come as I planned.
Because I did plan to visit Poland this summer and meet a sum of people..

In the unlikely event that we would've been there in the same period of time, then we could have met, that is what I rather meant.

My friends and I are already planning our next trip, probably Prague or Belgrade, but maybe one day even the Baltic states ;)

pre-ordered two deluxe packages, one extra vinyl, and the CD.  expensive. worth it.

gave 'Ten Stories' another shot, and it worked.
the album is indeed quite brilliant, and a mewithoutYou 'classic'

I can't believe you silly geese are not talking about this band right now.

3 weeks to the apocalypse and no mention?

Two new songs "D-Minor" and "Red Cow". Tour and all that jazz.

Get on it!

These guys are LEGEND
