It's only fitting to have a topic like this for movies.  List away.

i can honestly say. i dont think i saw one single movie from the year 2009.

I'm not really sure what I would have as my favorite movie this year, honestly. Nothing has really stuck out enough for me to definitely say "this is fuckin easily the best thing I've seen this year". So yeah, here's a list of good stuff:

Taken
Watchmen
I Love You, Man
Adventureland
State of Play
Drag Me To Hell
Up
The Hangover
Hurt Locker
Moon
District 9
Inglourious Basterds
Where The Wild Things Are
Whatever Works
The Road
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

I still need to see these that I've got some high hopes for: The Informant, Fantastic Mr Fox, A Serious Man, Invictus, Up In the Air, Sherlock Holmes, Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

Didn't see a lot of movies this year, but District 9 and Zombieland were the best for me.

2009 wasn't a stand out year for me as far as films go. I saw some good films, but are they worthy of being put on a "Best of 2009" list?

The few standouts on my list:

Up
The Hangover
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Inglourious Basterds

Oh, and of course New Moon!   :P

Just kidding. Really.

I've really been lacking on viewing movies this year.

Loved:
Antichrist
District 9
Star Trek
I Love You, Man
Trick 'r Treat
The Last House on the Left

Liked:
The Hangover
Drag Me to Hell
Bruno
Crank: High Voltage

Disappointments:
Observe & Report
Watchmen

Still haven't seen, but have very high hopes for: Inglourious Basterds, Moon, 500 Days of Summer, Zombieland, Funny People, The Road, The Hurt Locker, Where The Wild Things Are, Fantastic Mr. Fox, A Serious Man,  Up In the Air, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

I really want to see Anti Christ, but it wasn't playing anywhere near me.  :'( I love Lars von Trier, but the States have no love for him.

same for me. i've been lacking on that for the past two years. just nothing super interesting enough for me to go out and pay to see. I heard great things about District 9 and Inglorious Bastards though.

Looks like I didn't spend much time watching movies this year, but I'm gonna catch up on a few such as Inglourious Basterds or Star Trek sooner or later.

Haha. I think I need to watch Observe & Report again. Probably under the influence. It just seemed like it didn't really know what kind of movie it wanted to be. And the CONSTANT use of the f-bomb just felt unnatural. Less is more.

It's weird with Watchmen. I really, really liked it whan I saw it in theatres, but second time around it just didn't do anything for me. Eh...

With Observe and Report there was just something off about that film. I'm a big fan of gallow's humor and I love seeing Seth Rogen on the big screen, but this film was just too far out there. It tried to find funny moments in too dark situations.

I read the Watchmen and loved it. The movie, however, was bullshit. What makes the Watchmen so special  is its complexities of the story lines and characters. All the director was concerned about were the special effects. I think it was Terry Gilliam who said the Watchmen should never be made into a film, and I have to agree. Oh, and who the hell said Malin Ackerman could act? One of the worst actresses on the planet. I did, however, love Jeffery Dean Morgan and Jackie Earle Haley. Great portrayals of The Comedian and Rorschach.

Anti-Christ is on demand right now if you got comcast.
