Hey no problem, I'm glad you like it.  There's postings on there from all of my favorite authors, and there's just infinite stuff to read, it's insane.  Check out the literature section, you can download thousands of entire books for fucking free.

downtownpony

yeah, they've had download links in every article I've read so far.

alvarezbassist17

word, and all the authors have podcasts that you can subscribe to.  These are the ones I has on my Zune:

Tom Woods (economic historian)

http://mises.org/media/authors/424/Thomas-E-Woods-Jr

Robert Murphy (economics/anarcho-capitalist economic theory)

http://mises.org/media/authors/380/Robert-P-Murphy

Ron Paul

Tom DiLorenzo (political economic historian)

Walter Block (economics/libertarian theory)

http://mises.org/media/authors/443/Walter-Block

Ralph Raico (war history, history of classical liberalism)

http://mises.org/media/authors/344/Ralph-Raico

George Reisman (capitalist economic theory)

Joe Salerno (monetary theory)

Robert Higgs (economic/libertarian historian)

Roger Garrison (Austrian theories)

There's a few more, but those are the really good ones that everybody should check out.  If you listen to all of those podcasts, you'll know everything about everything, just like me :-*

Holy shit.

I don't fully understand how the economy works, I'm sure I will now though.
Any recommendations on which one I should start with so I don't get overwhelmed?

I started with the top 5, Tom Woods is probably my favorite author though.  He's an amazing speaker and his material is always compelling.  I'd also look up Peter Schiff too; he's a student of the same school of economics, but he is an investment broker, and was the most publicly vocal person who called the tech stock bubble, the housing bubble, and their eventual collapse.  He has a radio show that's also a podcast, I'm not quite sure how the free version works because I'm a premium member, but I think you can subscribe to that podcast too.

He also has a youtube channel where he posts 2-3 times a week

And here's why I like him so much:

Peter Schiff Was Right 2006 - 2007 (2nd Edition)

Why the Meltdown Should Have Surprised No One | Peter Schiff

But yeah, I really hope you find it as interesting and as truthful as I do.  You can go really deep into it, or just graze the surface.  I personally got addicted and have been reading that shit for going on 3 years now

Sorry that I haven't had enough time to catch up in this topic ( I will this weekend ) But I have really enjoyed reading Thomas Wood's books.

downtownpony

Awesome, thanks again. Don't think that I'm asking for all this info to be handed to me because I'm too lazy to look it up on my own. It's just that there is so much out there, and as your first video demonstrates, the majority of them don't really know what they're talking about. And I sure as hell wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

alvarezbassist17

Oh dude don't worry about it.  As a product of American public schools, I'm well aware of the vast amount of misinformation they teach.  So I don't hold it against you, in fact I'm so ridiculously happy that you actually read the stuff without dismissing it outright because it's not exactly the status quo, like most folks do.

Have you read Tom DiLorenzo at all?  He's got some really good shit too that's in the same kind of vein.

Damn that dude Peter Schiff has quite a few haters. Someone even has a you tube account dedicated to bashing him called the Schitt report.
He's the only one I've been listening to so far. I really like what he says, and the analogies he uses to describe what's going on. Also, because he has a lot of people challenging him on stuff, it forces him to explain things further, which helps me to understand as well.
What I really like though, is the fact that he supports and defends Ron Paul. I guess people that make sense attract each other.

Variable

People who challenge the system will always have haters. Martin Luther King Jr. also had quite a few haters.

Then, he was black, so that doesn't mean much...   :)
