No Joy

I searched but didn't find a topic on them. No Joy are a Canadian shoegaze band, formed in late 2009 by Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd.

It's a very underrated band imo. I think I found out about them by mention of them somewhere on this forum. The early stuff is very rock influenced but in more recent years since the band went their separate ways the lead singer and frontwoman Jasamine White-Gluz has developed a more electronic feel in her solo material. They've toured with Quicksand (Sergio Vega from Deftones previous band) and collaborated with tons of influential artists such as former Spacemen 3 member Peter Kember (aka Sonic Boom).  Jasamine White-Gluz is sisters with Alissa White-Gluz who is the lead vocalist for another pretty rad band, the Swedish death metal group known as Arch enemy. Alissa also is dating Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, guitarist of the American horror punk band Misfits.

Jasamine White-Gluz is a big fan of Deftones and follows them on social media. They are even referenced in the description of her newest album Motherhood right here:

I feel bad because their album release might have been overshadowed by the new Deftones single but it's worth checking out. My favorite track right now is Signal Lights.

Quite enjoying the new album at the moment. Need to let it settle in though, there's a lot going on.
