Flint (Change demo)

I was talking with glasstone1983 and he told me about a clip he used to have of some kind of demo version of Change, which was called "Flint". He says it was kinda slower and this version had Chino doing the "aah-aah" vocals until the end of the song as opposed to the final version.

Sadly he didn't manage to keep a copy. Does anyone know about this?

I have several different versions of Change that are essentially just different mixes. Idk about it being a demo or anything but it's like how you describe (sounds slower and fades out with ahh-ahh) It's not labeled "Flint" though it's just called "Change (In The House Of Flies) [Mastered - Ch Edits with End Fade]"

that was the working title of Change, flint or flint eastwood. they played it on mtv 1515 in jan 2000 (mtv news slightly longer feature segment thing). this was the biggest deal when they were on 1515, because it was the first we got to hear clips of WP (besides korea from ozzfest 99). you had to catch the videos or stuff like this on tv and record it, cause you weren't gonna find it on the slow old internet from then. it was rough, lol. they call it flint on here, but i hear no difference in speed

The versions I have come from an advance promo cd, though I'm lacking the Knife Prty tracks that were also on the cd. The album art shows the Knife Prty tracks were "Not Mastered" but the Change tracks were mastered. I wonder if there are any other actual demos out there besides the Adrenaline and SNW ones?

There's a thread here on the forum that has the Napster leaks but it contains a very unfinished version of Back to School. That's as close to a demo as I've heard from that era. The rest of the songs sound the same as the versions that were released.

If I got him right it's none of the above (except the excerpt on the MTV interview). It was something very early on and he didn't make a copy cause he wasn't into mellow Deftones back then being fresh off of Around the Fur. He regrets it now because he noticed nobody made a copy or uploaded it anywhere. I'll ask him to join in on this thread.

I remember in early 2000 it was played all the time on DirecTV on the METAL station and was totally called Flint on one of the high up 800+ audio only channels. Also noticed it was floating around on Napster back then along with all the other random titles for White Pony tracks before actual release. I also have that Change promo CD so I'll check that out to see if any of the mixes are possibly this version.

Yeah I think that's it! For sure ended just like that so I'm gonna say that is it. Do you have a larger image of the cover art? I can see the CD shows maybe 4 versions of Change with fade  and 3 others but can't read since it's so small.

Very cool I couldn't figure out to insert image but found the info using VLC and hit see tracklisting and saved it that way. Now I'm pretty sure it was either the one you uploaded or one of the other NO BRIDGE/END FADE thanks so much for figuring this out for me it's been driving me crazy for years. Would love to hear those Knife Party edits also.
