Yeah, Stephen said it was a "continuation of Ohms and Koi".

 He said something similar about Ohms as well. I just try to take the quotes with a grain of salt. Still stoked for new tunes. Nothing beats a new Deftones record in the summertime.

Yeah, it's an exciting statement though to be sure. However, they've never let me down in 20 years of them being my favorite band. I'm just ready to listen to what they've cooked up. It's always exciting getting a new Deftones album. But *some* fans will definitely hear that statement and run with it expecting Around The Fur 2.0

Yeah same. I definitely like some stuff better than others but I've never been let down either. Glad we're getting a quick turn around too instead of an agonizing three or four month wait!

Same. Could be mistaken but it feels like this album cycle they've been way more tight lipped than more recent past album cycles. I could be projecting but it leads me to believe they have made something really special with this one. Feels like they want it to be as much of a surprise as possible.

I haven't posted in quite a while but I'm always back around new album cycle time to hang out and discuss any tidbits we find. Good to be back. I'll be 40 in August and I can't think of anything better than a new Deftones album to spin all summer.

With what little we've heard people comment on the new music, everyone is making it sound like Deftones sounds hungry on this new album. Just a little over a week away from our first taste, fellas.

Is anyone else slightly concerned that no one has specifically said or tweeted July 10th officially?

Everlast said "This man has a record coming out much sooner in August that I just heard a few songs from." So 1000% he says new record in August. But then he says "That record is amazing, all 3 ones that I heard." Almost like he means record is just a song. Nowhere is July 10th mentioned. I know we have the Private Music poster. But why has no official account on social media confirmed anything yet? It's like they understand the confusion and just let it continue to brew.

Or maybe I am just so jaded from a 6 year wait that I can't believe anything until I hear it lol. I'm probably just trippin'

10/7 can only really be October 7th or July 10th. If the album is out in August, then the date on the teaser has to be July 10th because I'm pretty sure they're not going I promote a single for after the album is out.

Remember that social media/website teasing for both Gore and Ohms happened exactly a week before the first singles dropped. So they probably won't start teasing until Thursday at the earliest.

From theprp article: also mentioned that the record would be 'distributed by Deftones', seemingly indicating a label shakeup. The band had most recently been signed with Reprise/Warner.

If the band is distributing it themselves maybe that's why this rollout is so different.
