Question:
would you go see stone temple pilots?
Option 1: hells yeah!
Option 2: fuck no
Option 3: i'd rather stab myself in the ear with a fork
today i heard them mention on the radio that slash (ex-guns and roses/velvet revolver) confirmed that after they (velvet revolver) finsish up their current tour or whatever it was they were doing that sometime after that stone temple pilots were going to reunite to play some shows.
being i was a huge fan of stp i thought this news was awesome!
can't wait to hear more.
Hells yeah... STP is great band...
I'm sure they wont tour in Asia anyway, so I'm screwed anyway...
from wikipedia, since its already been confirmed i figured i'd check there to see if anymore was said.
Quote from: WikipediaReunion: 2008-present
On January 20, 2008, a Miami Herald blog reported that Scott said that the public "should be on the lookout for an STP reunion in the coming months." Billy Morrison also claimed on a December 29, 2007 edition of Camp Freddy Radio that STP have venues on hold for shows and that "it's no secret, half of LA knows it," implicating a reunion tour. There are rumors that the tour will kick off in May at the Rock on the Range festival in Ohio.
All of this coincides with a quote from Weiland last summer where he stated, "The only thing that's left unfinished is the completion of the story. I feel that there could be a better final chapter, a better bookend. If all the planets line up, you never know what might happen one day."
Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash confirmed the reunion by telling Billboard.com on January 25, 2008 that STP will be playing shows this summer MTV.com also reported the same day that music industry sources have said the summer reunion tour is on and that several bands are trying to secure opening spots for the tour It is rumored that the timing of Weiland's informal announcement means a headlining appearance at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and that STP will release an official statement after the Bonnaroo lineup announcement.

YES! that is like 15 minutes from my house
if STP are on it, i'm going. i've been a big fan of them, recently re-discovered how great they are. I'm pumped already.

that's fucking great news. too bad it's not a full reunion.
now here's wishing they come to Sweden, or at least somewhere close by...

This is great news. I will definitely try to catch them.
Oh wow!! I LOVE STP...hopefully they will come within my vicinity.

Weiland: "The only thing that's left unfinished is the completion of the story. I feel that there could be a better final chapter, a better bookend. If all the planets line up, you never know what might happen one day."
to me, that sounds like they just want to do a final tour and close the book completely.
oh, wait... I realize now that you might've misunderstood what I wrote - I didn't mean that all members wouldn't be there, I meant that they're not reuniting to record another album.
another STP cd would be awesome though.
Fucking awesome.
One of my top ten bands and when Velvet played "Sex Type Thing" here in New Zealand I swear the crowd responded more to that than any of their tunes.
Great news even if I doubt they'll be here any time soon.

ah, yeah.... thats what i thought. Gotcha now
Even if that is right, it's cool they're doin a last tour... though, i was a fan of Army of Anyone.
I liked STP back in the day, had the album 'Purple'
I know I'm going off topic here but the reunion I wanna hear happen: Soundgarden - Even if for like one big show, kinda like Pink Floyd at Live 8, 2005, though their set was short...
I bet Soundgarden will do a reunion sooner or later. if it's one show, one tour or one album... I don't know. but as far as I know there aren't any hard feelings between the guys.
That to would be awesome.
Still holding out for a Zepplin world tour.
yes they are. and i can't wait to see them this summer when they tour the u.s. im actually considering seeing them in ohio for the rock on the range festival in may. great band.

It's a great line up. I believe Filter is on it too, another awesome reunion. I'm only 15 minutes away from the venue. Tickets are pricey though.. it's gonna be a 2 day event.
There are rumors of STP being on Ozzfest this year too.

Heh....Scott Weiland is becoming the master of band musical chairs.
I sometimes wonder what the other members are like?
Other members:Let's do an album!!!
Scott:Nah...I'd rather get buzzed.
Other members:Your fired!!!!
Scott:Uh....kk...where's my fucking crack pipe, mascara and pink feather boa?
Other members:Ummm...let's make a new band and call it....TALK SHOW!!!!!
*13 album sales later*
Other members:Hey Scott...sorry dude...wanna come back?
Scott:Why not....I'm in need of drug money and need to lose at least 5 more kilos.
Other members:YAY!!!!!
*a few million album sales and a grammy later*
Other members:Let's do an album!!!
Scott:Nah...I'd rather get buzzed.
Other members:Your fired!!!!
Scott:Whatever....I'm off to form a band with Slash....and I'm taking the megaphone and bongs!!
Other members:Oh yeah?Well we to shall form another new band....it shall be called Army of One!!!!
*Velvet Revolver's debut sells by the truckload......Army of One's debut sells 72 copies*
Other members:Hey Scott...sorry dude...wanna come back?
Scott:Go on then....
Other members:Radness!!!We have a new song idea.....
Last week, Scott quit the band,
Now we're back together, uh.
Misunderstanding, didn't understand.
It doesn't matter, now we're back together again.
A-la la la la la.
Couldn't split up Kato and Nash. (that's true)
Couldn't split up Tango and Cash.
That's also true!
This is our song of exultant joy because
We only came to kick some ass.
Rock the fuckin' house and kick some ass.
What we gonna do with all the cash?
Smoke hash, and then we thrash.
We'll throw a big ol' bash y'all.
And everyone is invited to the bash.
And everyone you're all invited to the bash!
C'mon Scott one time c'mon!

;D
haha, that was gold.
it really seems like they can't make up their mind about Scott. and it seems like Scott's only in it to live the rockstar life and doesn't really care that much about anything. fortunately, he's too fucking cool and talented for me to give a damn that he's a douche. I just hope he doesn't OD sometime soon.
Amen to that.
Saw them (Velvet) play here in NZ which was awesome but the two STP songs they performed were the highlight of the night.
It's almost like Voltron...together they are just destined to make amazing music but without the head of Weiland they just fail which is weird as I rate the DeLeo brothers pretty highly as song writers.
Seems like they need Weilands influence at some level to really polish off the song writing.
from what I remember of Talk Show, the music itself was good but the singer sounded really dull and the lyrics felt totally uninspired. they are all great musicians and can craft great music, but I think they need the weirdness and the inspiration Scott brings to really shine (and the glam, can't forget the glam).
is it worth checking out Army of One btw? I had completely missed that album. I had read that they were going to start a band with the singer of Filter, but I always thought it never happened.

Nail on the head.
I felt sorry for the guy tbh as it's akin to...Tool, Pantera, heck even the Deftones trying to replace what most fans would consider the irreplaceable front man and vocalist.

.
Downloaded 3 tracks and passed on it but a few of my friends liked the album, just not my cup of tea.Richard Patrick has slipped in his own band as of late imo and to me he spread himself way to thin working on Army.

Army of Anyone*.. and i felt the same, i wasn't impressed.. AT FIRST. Before i knew it, i was listening to the album quite a bit. It's got some catchy stuff. Definately a grower.
i dont trust scott one bit to stay sober..the guys been in rehab more than most people change their underwear. After the recent DUI, he aint gonna make it...and for some reason, despite my love for him and stp..i dont really care any more
