am i going to like it? it's a jam band, isn't it? i don't like jam bands. most of them are a bunch of wanks with no substance.
You probably won't like it. The band consists of more than a 2 string instrument and a voice!
Just download it.
This didn't quite float my boat.
Lol oh well. I got other shit lined up that you'll probably like.
Good to know.

No.
The new Small Brown Bike one, which I got yesterday...pretty disappointed. Ah well, the previous shit hot offerings remain untarnished. (Our Own Wars people - get it). Im finding in general (emphasis on in general) aging kills amazing music. old people are all dicks. Old as in....over... hmm - Im going to research the age where people become shit at music.

what about people like leonard cohen, pj harvey and nick cave? i don't think it's age that affects music.
Emphasis on in general young lady.
hahaha oh, ouch. it's very rare that age diminishes the quality of the music. i've never come across it with the artists i listen to.
but yes yes, in general as you say.

Leonard Cohen FTW. Wait, actually all 3 you mentioned are soooo good with age.
Maybe its an especially prevalent thing in rock...Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura, Korn, Incubus, Small Brown Bike, Hot Water Music, Far, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Biohazard, AC/DC, Primus, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Fu Manchu, Fugazi, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Alice in Chains, Bodyjar, Tool, Coheed & Cambria, King of Leon, Lamb of God, A Life Once Lost, Norma Jean, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Machine Head, Helmet, Entombed, Fear Factory, Pantera, Obituary, Rage Against the Machine, Sparta, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Slayer and White Zombie all just pop into my mind as examples of bands who didnt necessarily become shit, but without doubt (at least my my own stupid mind) have their strongest record near the beginning of their respective careers. Its just opinion...but rocks a younger mans game in my opinion generally. Im off to study examples of this in other genres. I must mention Meshuggah though - theyre like the Madonna or Cher of the hard rock world...consistently putting out relevant fresh releases that Im always impressed with. None of their records are poor - and my fave of their back catalogue alternates.
Hahaha how the hell did this conversation start in this thread?
Because of Small Brown Bike. the bastards.

Alright, here's another album you should listen to. It's Mike Ness of Social Distortion.
I stole the link off some other website.
Genre Rock, rock and roll, folk, country, roots rock, Americana
Cheating at Solitaire is the first solo album from Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness. Released in 1999, it bypasses much of Social Distortion's punk muscle in favor of a more roots-oriented approach to rock and roll. It features cameos by Bruce Springsteen, Brian Setzer, and members of Royal Crown Revue. Johnny Cash was invited to perform on the song "Ballad of a Lonely Man", but was too ill to record at the time.

i hope it's not the album with that annoying daisy song.
It is not. That's a good song though.
if by good you mean annoying, then yes.
Ween--Push th' Little Daisies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PAzqBUNlCs#)
it pisses me off.
lolz
I've listened through the album, and i think it goes from brilliant one moment, to absolutely horrible the next. I really don't like it when they're trying to be funny, which seems to be all the fucking time.
^lol it's their style, brah.
I bring to you 30db.
Hailing from Chicago, longtime friends, musical collaborators, and all-around conspirators Jeff Austin (of Yonder Mountain String Band) and Brendan Bayliss (of Umphrey's McGee) have been writing music and playing together for years. In between their busy tour schedules with Yonder and Umphrey's, the two musicians had always wanted to start a band. They wrote some songs, played some shows (both on Jeff's turf in Colorado and back home in Chicago) and so 30db was born.
After accruing a mass quantity of music, they decided it was about time to make a record. They recruited an amazing crew of musicians to join them in Boulder for some recording sessions, and that's when 30db really took its shape and became a band. Holding down the sound on drums, percussion, and keyboards is the Memphis-based North Mississippi Allstars drummer and co-founder, Cody Dickinson. E-Town host and legendary musician from Hot Rize, Nick Forster, plays electric guitar; and Boulder-based player/producer Eric Thorin keeps it tight on the bass. The final product is a collection of heartfelt tunes, filled with fun yet ironic lyric undertones and solid playing from start to finish.
