Someone requested some Mike Patton in the Download/Request thread, figured i'd make a new post since I am a Patton freak!  here are a bunch of his CD's. I will add more later.

I posted these on another forum, everyone should know the genius that is Mike Patton.Patton is highly regarded in alternative musical circles, and seen as something of an idol in the eyes of modern alternative youth for his air of mystique, his constantly-changing musical sensibilities, his impressive vocal range, and his experimental nature. He remains an elusive figure in music, rarely giving interviews and characteristically dismissive of his contribution to Faith No More in particular.

Mr. Bungle - Along with the normal instruments of a rock band, Mr. Bungle would also incorporate additions such as bongos, woodblocks, tenor sax, Jews harp, xylophone, glockenspiel, clarinet, ocarina, piano, and organ. Some of the genres they utilized include heavy metal, funk, free jazz, surf rock, punk, klezmer music, ska, kecak, avant-jazz,folk music, pop,doo-wop, funk metal, electronica, swing music, space age pop, death metal, rockabilly, bossa nova, progressive rock, country and western, Circus Music and even video game and cartoon music.

Mr. Bungle’s style has influenced many recent funk and metal bands, most notably Korn, whose guitarists utilize what they've dubbed the "Mr. Bungle chord".Brandon Boyd of Incubus also cited Mr. Bungle as an influence. Although, Patton has stated that he considers it an insult when people cite him as a forefather of Korn and Limp Bizkit, stating "I feel no responsibility for that, it's their mothers' fault, not mine."

Fantomas - Fantômas songs are often discordant and tuneless, using feedback and pure noise, and they could easily be described as experimental noise. However, they are not a pure noise band as they do have concrete beats and melodies in most of their songs. They are a unique combination of noise and progressive psychedelia. Fantomas is Mike Patton, Buzz (Melvins), and Dave Lombardo (Slayer), and Trevor Dunn(Mr Bungle)

here is some real early mr bungle, stuff from when they were still in high school.
I didn't know such strong Patton hate existed here, if you ever liked korn, deftones, incubus, red hot chili peppers, dog fashion disco, wes borland. . . .  You can thank Mr. Patton. If by overratted, you mean highley infuential, extremely versatile, and one the most respected members of the music community, than yeah your right, overratted.

Yes, Mike Patton is awesome. I love him to death but even I'm getting tired of everyone liking him so much.
Maybe it's just because I've heard everything in this thread a thousand times, I dunno, but I think it's beginning to be alot like Tool: Yeah he's good but he's not the king of them music universe like alot of people I know seem to believe.

i love tomahawk. anonymous is one of the best albums ever.

word.

Did you hit your head? Anonymous is barely even a Tomahawk record, it sounds more like a lite Fantomas.

PS: This thread needs Irony Is A Dead Scene.

And don't listen to these guys, start with FNM's The Real Thing. That's probably the best place to start.

Word.

Patton's a monster, whether or not I would choose to listen to any project he's involved in (they're not all his, really), I definitely respect what he does in each. Faith No More is still my favorite project, but I saw him in John Zorn's Moonchild in SF earlier this month and that was awesome...like literally, I was in awe at least a few times.
