Good news. I hope they make another album

funny thing is... whenever a band I love reunite I always wish for new material. but when I heard about this, the thought didn't even cross my mind. I'm perfectly fine with the FNM material we have and although I'm certain they could easily put out yet one more great album, it's not gonna be anywhere near their old stuff. not by far.

Yeah I agree.

To see them live would do it for me. Holy shit, what a dream that would be.

Reunion Of The Year - wookubus
(5:37 PM MST 02/25/2009)
Faith No More have now officially announced their reunion, complete with their latest line-up. Drummer Mike Bordin, keyboardist Roddy Bottum, bassist Billy Gould, guitarist Jon Hudson and vocalist Mike Patton will comprise the groups touring line-up. The bands official statement runs as follows:
"Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat--its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe. Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.
What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right. Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff.... BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!
We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
Who know where this will end or what it will bring up...only the future knows. But we are about to find out!
Currently the band only have plans to tour Europe.

I honestly think this is the happiest I've been since I was a little kid.

I'm kinda still waiting for the announcement that it's all bullshit.... almost too good to be true, you know...

If only Jim Martin came back.  But seriously, this makes us excited but how many people really even do care about Faith No More?  Could they pack huge venues?  Or will it be moderate sized places?

is that you sister in your av? she's hot.

I definitely think FNM still can pack pretty big venues, especially here in Europe. I was always under the impression that they hit it bigger here than in the States.

i think there is a huge mid 20's + age market for a FNM reunion..

obviously a lot of youngsters wont have a clue about their music, perhaps even FNM's music doesnt fit in with the times all that well, but has it ever? its always been its own thing..

i think the most likely case is that they will play some big festival shows first...put a great tour package together...lets see what happens

I'm gonna be pretty annoyed if I have to go to a festival only to see FNM. festivals around here are pretty much crap nowadays and way overpriced.

Exactly.  They haven't made plans for a U.S. tour yet, but if they did I don't want it to be a part of a festival.

FNM have been booked at a couple more festivals, check tour dates at www.fnm.com

I'm about 95% sure I'm going to the Southside Festival in Germany. I'm gonna be on vacation in Austria the days before the festival, so timing is perfect. I'd like to go to the one in Austria as well, but it's the exact same dates :/
