I personally think it's hard to tell from these vids: the guy is caught in the pit, he films his stupid friends, etc, etc...I just noticed Chino still does these horrible pig squeals, can't someone in the band tell him it doesn't sound good? Songs like MOS or BQAD are just worthless without Chi.

there is a reason, he has some troubles about his voice and he has to keep it well..
dont expect him to do studio screams on every live performances

I agree a bit on this one.I have no problem with Sergio being with the band but the guy just stands there and play...he could show a bit more of enthusiasm and move around more. I found this performance of him with the Deftones when he first filled for Chi and the guy had more life...now he just stands there doing like a statue and that's kinda of a turn off to me...

you have to realise sergio is trying to keep with the music. yes, i realise he has played with them before but i doubt he will be losing it on stage with a band he has only played a handful of shows with, on someone elses written music

That must be because the rest of the band is tight enough live, and chino most of the times doesn't. So a good deftones show depends on how chino and his throat delivers. How many times did you say Abe, chi, frank or Steph had a bad show? we can't say exactly the same about the rest of the members of the band.

i think the biggest problem the deftones are going to have is after like the 15th or so show and chinos been doing ALL the singing, his voice is going to get really raspy before he even gets back to the states.  SOMEONE needs to step up and start singing the backup vocals, even if they give abe a nsync type headset, cuz chinos throat shouldnt be taking all the abuse...

I didnt think they would play a new song at this show anyway being thats its there first time in korea so they pretty much went with there more widely know songs...but not half bad...
