oh hell yea three of my favorite bands on one tour
Three kick ass bands and one band im not sure on, but i know Sonny Mayo is on guitar, so thats sweet.
Finch's new album rocks. It's about a million times better than their last effort.
no dates are announced yet
It's still glassjaw though, that's the important part.
Now to find someone that wants to go with me.
Are prices up yet?
Hopefully not...I want an excuse not to feel bad form issing Oakland
Quote from: "The Captain"Hopefully not...I want an excuse not to feel bad form issing Oakland
Even if it means not being able to ever see whatever version of GlassJaw(it is) ever again?
^ Another thing I don't like about the tour. Nothing against theUsed, but GJ needs to headline that shit!
he made mention while doing this tour he intends on traveling in a seperate bus with head automatica and writing new head automatica stuff every second that he isn't on the stage
Quote from: "Malpractice"he made mention while doing this tour he intends on traveling in a seperate bus with head automatica and writing new head automatica stuff every second that he isn't on the stage
But Head Automatica wont be touring the same time. So why would they spend the money to move the band along with Daryl?
this tour is going to suck though it is going to be a really half-assed version of glassjaw. daryl hasn't even practiced with the band yet and he dosen't plan on. on a sirius radio interview he made mention while doing this tour he intends on traveling in a seperate bus with head automatica and writing new head automatica stuff every second that he isn't on the stage and also made mention of disintrest in the tour. glassjaw is dead and this tour was just an excuse for beck to get out of his office job for a month and see if he can still do this shit and to also shut up all the people complaining for glassjaw shows and new music. daryl's heart isn't in this band at all anymore and only grudginly agreed to do this tour because he knows he owes beck. beck and manny should just join chase pagan and let glassjaw call it a day offically. no use in prolonging the inevitable
I doubt Daryl's sick this time, I think he's faking.
he was actually fine for a long period of time until he started drinking and doing drugs which are two things that are not recommended when you have chrohn's disease. back then he would occasionly have an attack of chrohn's in the state but usually only something minor and he would only really have a problem when he would go into other countries which is understandable. Ever since he started drinking and doing drugs though his attacks are more and more frequent and more and more severe. It is getting harder and harder for me to feel sorry for the guy anymore. that along with his recently acquired big headed attitude\

fact remains i grow tired of these games
glassjaw is over, no matter what the band and the hardcore-fans say.

It needs to happen.
Pain with Daryl, Chino and Max
Yes.
Glass Ballroom - wookubus
(6:21 PM PST 08/25/2005)
Glassjaw frontman Daryl Palumbo has gotten the go-ahead from his doctor to play one show with The Used on August 31st at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, NY. Speaking on the show, Palumbo had the following to say:
"It sucks that my health did not permit me to do the whole tour but I am excited to be able to play a Glassjaw show in my hometown. I am working hard on getting better and look forward to doing more touring with Head Automatica and Glassjaw in the future."
How convenient he is better for the home show. I guess he is making up for last year.
Fucking went to the USED show last night in Houston and it fucking blew;GJaw would have been so out of place; H2o fucking sucked and 30 Seconds to Mards,was,well,30 Seconds to Mars;I am so tired of this shit;that scheduling shit in N.Y. is FUCKED UP TOO!
"Glassjaw played tonight at 7:05pm at The Downtown on Long Island. This show was unannounced, and I think a lot of die hard fans who have been waiting to see the band, may be pissed the show wasn't publically announced."
Whenever anyone gets that b-side post it.

certain songs stand out to me more on worship and tribute (gillete calvalcade of sports). but i like every song on EYEWTKAS and i cant say that about W&T.
plus, eyewtkas is about some girl who daryl really seems to have a hate for, so i can certainly relate

hahahahahha
sorry, i got a mental image of you listening to HA
Manny's in Saves The Day now.
i just got the august 28th, 2005 the downtown, new york live show bootleg. anyone else have it? i think it's pretty damn good.

Where as there's only like 4-5 songs on eyewtkas that really gets to me. I freaking love Siberian Kiss!
ETYWTKAS is about one chick that went out with Drayl years ago. Her name is Katey Tiger and she fucked 'round on him when they where together.
Supposedly she was in the audience at a glassjaw gig and Beck saw her and told Daryl. He supposedly ripped the shit outta her and she left crying.
But that is a rumor. This chick knows that the album is about her so why the fuck would she go to a gig!!!!

actually the girl daryl is singing about on EYEWTKAS is Teeter (he actually has a shirt with her name on it in the inlay of EYEWTKAS). She actually has a band now and every song is about daryl lol

GJ '07! haha, well at least that gives him time.
I dunno, everybody else is hating him for HA and his other projects, but I still think it's really cool, he seems to have an amazing work ethic.
Can somebody repost Oxycodone? Thanks in advance.
Well, Manny is definitely through with Glassjaw
Daryl for crying out loud ! Stop wasting time on HA !
I want more Glassjaw !
They need to get Sammy Seager back on the drums. larry Goodman is alright, I know Sammy only played on ETYWTKAS as a favour to ross Robinson...but fuck, the drumming on Piano (i still jam out that part on the 2nd verse where we has that random fill) is insane.
Beck is an amazing musician (he played most of the drums on Worship), but Todd is very underrattedBeck didn't play drums on Worship And Tribute. session drummer Shannon Larkin (Amen) played drums for the whole album. Beck might of written some of the parts though. Beck did play drums back on the old Kiss Kiss Bang Bang-era stuff though
I would have loved to see them on the ETYWTKAS tour supporting Deftones! daryl singing headup with Chino. That would have been pricesless

it's Larry Gorman not Larry Goodman and he dosen't play drums in Glassjaw anymore. Durijah Lang (Classic Case) now plays drums in the band when they do play shows/record. He use to be in glassjaw a long ass time ago too for a short period of time. And yes you are right Sammy did play on EYEWTKAS as a favor to Ross but he did actually join the band for a short period of time and did a few shows with them but then decided to do Rival Schools fulltime and that's where Larry Gorman came into the picture.Beck is an amazing musician (he played most of the drums on Worship), but Todd is very underrattedBeck didn't play drums on Worship And Tribute. session drummer Shannon Larkin (Amen) played drums for the whole album. I am not too sure Daryl did Headup with Deftones i know Daryl and Beck did Right Brigade with Deftones and i think Daryl sang on BQAD with them once or twice
i listened to w&t today. i seriously forgot how amazing the album is.
I like Daryls little race commentry at the end of The Gilette Cavalcade of Sportsi listened to w&t today. i seriously forgot how amazing the album is.I've been listening to it a lot lately.
One of my favorite songs on that cd. You know the mellower songs on that cd totally own the heavier songs on that cd.and hit me with your style
I absolutely love "Trailer Park Jesus"
Put the needle to the record...

Again, i wish he would stop all those side projects and come back home to Glassjaw.
since Shannon Larkin was mentioned i wanna go ahead and yell out IF YOU HAVENT CHECKED OUT AMEN THEN YOU SHOULDGood call Even though Amen has had major problems getting shit realeased, Casery Chaos is one of the top punk writers out there now.
Also because it features the better musicans from Snot (Shannon was the original drummer in Snot...but left to join Ugly Kid Joe).
Amen and We have Come For Your Parents are pure slabs of noise
i guess i should get some Snot, Ultraspank, MF Pitbulls, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero seeing as I've never heard any of them
awesome
i want them back....pretty lush......pink roses...ape dos mil....siberian kiss...i saw chino wore a glassjaw shirt in the s/t recording sessions... dunno if im right....there one wicked band that i missed a lot
i cant get the number no good things could come of out of my head!! its such a beautiful song.Def. Man. Love it too.
Daryl thought of the name Glassjaw in eighth gradeTo be honest, i've never really thought it fit the band. It fits a generic nu metal band, which they are so not. :) They need a more poetic name.

You know how you always attatch a certain feeling to something? I don't know why, but before I really knew Glassjaw, and saw their name in Mags, I just always thought they were nu metal.Whaaa? I KNOW this is not the Head Automatica forum...I could give a shit less...anyway, does anyone know why Larry Gorman is no longer the drummer for HA...just read this on the PrP...no word was given to why...I really wish Daryl had never made that band. It's just horrible.
Did Gorman play drums for the two GlassJaw shows last year?

Very wicked indeed?
it's funny how glassjaw use to be on of my favourite bands. now i NEVER listen to them, but i wish i did.
I listen to Glassjaw all the time.bro, never believe one word that Becks says!!!!
Some people believe the new cd will be a concept album.
Beck has been putting links inside the code of glassjaw.com and people are trying to decipher what is meant by it.
LineUp? MalPractice?
i'll be at the new haven ct show, even though i hate Hatebreed
You Think Your John Fucking Lenon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHGt8crRpe4).That sounds just ace, man. Even though it could sound like the usual heavy music / great sing along chorus, but when it's Glassjaw doing it, it doesn't sound cheap at all, it just sounds terrific.
Live 23-12-2006.
I dig it too, though I'm not too fond of other Glassjaw stuff. What? Not even Worship & Tribute? :)
And, for the record, I got the link from The PRP (http://www.theprp) 8)
It's his voice, the dissonance (or more unflatering, being off tune deliberatly (sp) all the time), it's just not my cup of tea.Fair enough, man. Even if you don't like the vocalist, then you gotta admit the musicians in Glassjaw kicks ass. :D
I thought they were awesome live, perfect intro to Deftones... Then I bought W/T immediately after the show.
That's what I love about music. I can set an album aside for months and when I come back to it there's a feeling of rediscovery that's completely refreshing. Plus, Glassjaw are just phenomenal. They really are, man. But, they seem to be a band I tend to forget about. BUT ! When they do find their way back to my ears, they always amaze me.
The Glassjaw tour has recently reached it's frenzied finish, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone whom came out to mosh, headwalk and/or buy sachels of merch. The tour was rather amazing, quite rigorous (and yet a little too short).Kinda blurry information. But, it's better than nothing.
Both Glassjaw & Head Automatica will be posting new music online as the finished tunes actually present themselves.
I'm listening to Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence right now and "Pretty Lush" doesn't mean as much as it used to.

Not the sound, but its meaning. Ever since Daryl broke edge, it lost whatever it had. I still like the song, but it just isn't as meaningful.I know what you mean. But, it's still one of my favourite tracks by Glassjaw.

it's even weirder when they perform it live.

glassjaw sucks.
Sorry didnt mean to be insulting. Simply stating that a band sucks and not giving any reasons is pointless. If you dont like a band that's cool, we all have our own tastes in music. It's hard to have a discussion with a response thats void of any thought other than " well that band sucks just because"
It's funny i had just as hard of time getting into glassjaw as i did trying to get into the deftones.Hard time getting into them? What music do you normally listen to?
Just ignore blondie, he's a CUNT.

Worship And Tribute is their best album no question about it but best songs is more debatableTough call. I like Worship for the musicmanship and the restrained aggression.
Sound-wise, Worship and Tribute is better. Lyrically, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence is better.Thats a perfect sum-up.
Sound-wise, Worship and Tribute is better. Lyrically, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence is better.
If anything I find the lyrics on Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence to be honest and raw, which is why I like it so much. In my book, it's ok to be a little childish when you have your heart broken. Worship and Tribute is more evolved, but the lyrics aren't as passionate as the lyrics on Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence. This is how I feel too. Worship and Tribute is definitely the better album, but I connect with the raw emotion of EYEWTKAS more.
There are rumors floating around about a new Head Automatica EP coming out before your other band Glassjaw gets back together. Any details?
They both may be happening at the same time, and it's not an EP anymore; it's a full album, and it'll be released around the same time as the new Glassjaw album, sometime pretty soon. There's also going to be something out by House of Blow (Daryl's hip-hop/electronic project with Hatebreed guitarist Sean Martin).
GlassJAw - Chinese Democracy (200?)Hahahahaha
you really do like that lyric zevaka hehe! :)oh, i'm not a girl :P
I hope this is true about the 7/7/7 thing!

then what does it mean? new album's name?
ok, little present for ya allIt is a weird version of the songs. I do prefer the double kicks that are in Motel of the White Locust. This is the drummer before Ross Robinson got Sammy Seiger in (who is also their current drummer).

Btw, guys, what do u think about Glassjaw music style? What is that? I know a lot of people, who think it's Emo-core. I think it's stupid, for me they are more.. punk, or hardcore even (in some way). But not emocore. What do u think?
progressive band don't nessecarily have long complicated songs. they do, however, have a certain theme throughout their albums.
glassjaw doesn't, so i wouldn't really call them prog.

You guys can call me stupid, but I just discovered today the greatness of Glassjaw. I had the mp3 on my comp for years, but never listened to them that much cause I was never impressed on my first listens, but I decided to give them another listen today as they were under the spotlights again.
And BANG !! 100% awesome. I listened to both Worship and Tribute and EYEWTKAS all day long... pure greatness...
definitely a deep band that needs a lot of time to digest, worth it though - one of my favourite bands of all timeThats what is is brilliant about them...their deepness. When I first heard EYWTKAS I was in my thrash stage and GlassJaw was too chaotic for me. but then we went on a roadtrip and that was all we had and I still never get tired of it.
Dude have you heard any of the new songs they've played live? They still have the intensity and Daryl can still scream his ass off.yes, indeed
if this album doesn't come out soon, I'm probably going to explode:)he must be a gone'r by now...
Yeah, Natural Born Farmer, Jesus Glue, and You think you're John fuckin' Lennon.
wow . new album will gonna be awesome.

when they do release a record. the soul is gonna be ripped right out of glassjaw. and its gonna sound like all the other scene music that we have all grown to hate
i hope im wrong.. but i have a very strong feeling that glassjaws next album. is gonna be just like catch without arms by dredg
a half assed. mediocre album. filled with pop songs without the old soul that made us fall in love with them
sorry for ranting. but its what i believe to happen
remember when glassjaw were awesome
back before darryl turned into a complete fag and started head automatica
i know you may say.. well how does that make glassjaw suck if they havent released a record since he created head automatica

glassjaw will NEVER be a pop band and catch without arms is amazing.
i never really got into these guys, but "ape dos mil" is a great song.Lol that was the first GJ song I ever heard, and suffice to say I'm sick to death of it, it's become the one GJ song I never listen to.

teehee
i can't believe how great this song is. they're better than ever. killer fucking riff. And the chorus is catchy as hell, gotta love it.
it soudns a lot like siberian kissI'd say it sounds more like Majour, but I can see where you're coming with the comparation. The songs share vocal style.
Am I the only one that kind of likes the longer intro. It really builds up anticipation for the song to begin.
Am I the only one that kind of likes the longer intro. It really builds up anticipation for the song to begin.Same. Agreed. Indeed. Amen.
i'd like some of the intro to be there, but not the same length as on the website.
Am I the only one that kind of likes the longer intro. It really builds up anticipation for the song to begin.I like the long intro too. The antipation is awsome. I thought Shannon Larkin was playing drums on the album again (he played on some on worship and tribute), but it sounds like Durijah. It would be awsome if Sammy Siegler would step back up again, but we all know that will never happen...
Wicked song though. Im glad Darryl is venting again!Fuckin 'a'! I could never really get into the metro-sexual type stuff of Head Automica (and never will), makes me think of The Killers and Maroon 5 but even gayer, glad Daryl is re-discovering his roots again...
Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence (Reissue) (Roadrunner)i hope there will be some bonus tracks
Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence (Vinyl) (Reissue) (Roadrunner)
on March 24th
Okey, that "new" song is quite boring if you ask me. And they anticipation of this album is a fucking joke.
I like the music this band puts out, but can't stand the way they treat there fans.
Is it really worth it?Not really, I've listened to it, and compared it to the original, there really isn't that big a change. :-S Don't know why they remastered it in the first place, sounds great to me as it was.
Roadrunner just loves money.
And I want a studio V. of JEsus glue.
the best part. is that u guys are waiting for nothing.. darryl is a fucking fag now. glassjaw were cool. they really were. but the moment darryl went to head automatica. he got gay. so that means. his gayness will have rubbed off on glassjaw
no more gillete calvacade of sports.. get ready for some emo thrashy shit.
fuck glassjaw. seriously, i love their music...but how the fuck can it take this fucking long to release the album? and now an ep? what the fuck.
when you expect them not to release anything, releasing something or even the announcement of it just makes it that much more exciting.that's the type of mentality we'd all be better off with...
I will buy that shit if the motherfuckers don't release it on Roadrunner
To be fair though glassjaw themselves encouraged fans not to buy their records released on Roadrunner and instead download it.
They won't, Not that their record label has anything to do with whether you should buy the cd...and if a record label means that much to you then you need to get out there and do your own music, get signed and maybe you'll understand how it might feel to have that said about you.I already pretty much make my own music, but I will never get signed, my music's too unconventional, and I don't have the energy to tour anyway, or deal with record labels' bullshit.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roadrunner_RecordsI can concur that Roadrunner is complete shite and a disgrace to what metal music really is.
To be fair though glassjaw themselves encouraged fans not to buy their records released on Roadrunner and instead download it.That's exactly why I said what I said. Not because of some mysterious reason that the guy who made the quote above thinks i believe. I dislike Roadrunner because Glassjaw hates Roadrunner.
yes? opening for Brand New.
hmm. didn't Brand New and Glassjaw use to play shows together like before they made it big?
either way, I like both bands and would not complain about seeing them play together, no matter who's opening.
I think a band that has released two albums in a three year span (2006 and 2009 in a month) deserves to headline over a band who has consistently shit all over their fans by destroying their image, knocking key founders out of the band, and refusing to record and release anything significant in 7 years.Everything I've read from ben today has been true, so is this.

The new glassjaw album is much like Duke Nukem Forever. It will never surface.
I actually just googled Todd's name and it said on the glassjaw.net board that he might have rejoined. Probably just rumours though, but it would be great news.
Seeing them live in a few hours !!! Can't fucking wait !!! :D

New JAw will Slam!Fo' sho'.
Wow, I just listened to that bootleg. And performance wise, it's awful. Daryl can't hit any notes in Mu Empire, and the old songs really do lack without a second guitarist, especially Two Tabs of Mescaline.Got any good ones you'd like to enrich our lives with?

They look more like Argentines.
:( I live in Austin and Emo's is one of my favorite venues for bands. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to that show.
haha, it's quite comic how we argentinians brag about that kind of stuff, to the point It kind of became a South american competition. I think It has much to do with the fact that bands rarely play here, so when they come it's a real event, it's not that we have more heated blood or something like that.
by the way, I still remember de overwhelming response that Knife prty got here, didn't expect it.

kick ass article, E-money. Glassjaw is an amazing act all together, and that article pretty much says it all.
New song is pretty good, I think it's a grower.
Why do they keep releasing EP's? Can't they just release one whole record?that's what i've been sayin' for a year.

new Coloring Book EP
not my upload, so i deserve no praise. just sharing. :)
thanks man! so between this and the 5 singles, does this make up the new album? or are these b-sides?
Its so fucking good. Just listened to it for the 2nd time and damn. Stations of the New Cross is probably my favorite GJ song ever.song is the titties.
I'm just waiting until Monday when I get it in person :)
yeah...it was about time to get some new proper GJ material. although im not sure if im convinced of the mastering yet...
I don't know guys, I have very recently gotten into Our Color Green. I loved the amount of screaming that was present on those songs and with Coloring Book, there's very little of it. I am afraid this is going to take a lot of getting used to for me.
One crazy theory I heard was the both of these ep's formed the overall full length that the band keeps hinting at. Remember how Beck stated that the album has a bunch of noisy stuff and a bunch of softer, more experimental material? Well apparently some think that these two eps - Our Color Green being the noisier and Coloring Book being the more experimental - make up the entire album.
Hopefully this isn't the case.
I might get shit for this but does anyone else think that some of Daryl's vocals on "Stations of the New Cross" sound like Chester from Linkin Park?

I don't get the fuss about these two new ep's. They're so boring.go listen to radiohead, you snob ;)
i feel like an idiot because this whole time i was seeing coloring book i was thinking of our color green....so im just now listening to coloring book. Its pretty good.
yup, it's the track for theRR comp, must be a mislabel your file has.No, the Don Fury Demo Sessions* I have has these songs:
seriously, is it good the new EP? is it like the first time you heard worship and tribute?
boring
You think everything sucks at first.seriously, is it good the new EP? is it like the first time you heard worship and tribute?
I think the two new EP's are incredibly boring, but hey, that's just me.
seriously, is it good the new EP? is it like the first time you heard worship and tribute?Yes. Better.
should I download this?
I've gotta admit that I miss the " in-the-face " effect of the old Glassjaw, and I miss Todd as well. But their new sound is pretty interesting, Coloring Book's a great EP.
yeah its not so volatile and punishing but i love the snappy drumming and the just the general-badassery of each song. it makes me wanna run
fine by me. as long as glassjaw continues to make music, i really don't care how they release it.
fine by me. as long as glassjaw continues to make music, i really don't care how they release it.Amen.
Hey guys, I'd like to have your opinion on this one... Which do you prefer between Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence and Worship & Tribute and why ?
Hey guys, I'd like to have your opinion on this one... Which do you prefer between Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence and Worship & Tribute and why ?Personallly, I just prefer EYEWTKAS... W & T just feels too polished to me, but it is still good don't get me wrong, I like both, just prefer EYEWTKAS...
guys, i'm gonna do a request;done a fast google search. is it this one Nico?
does anybody still has the videos from Minneanapolis 2003 that were on glassjaw.net? they were mpeg videos. It's one of the best glassjaw shows ever, and lost my copy. It would be really nice If somebody could upload this for me.
Our Color Green is so damn awesome.
God damn glassJaw are fantastic.
You're overreacting, Theis.God damn glassJaw are fantastic.
Really?
Those performances were horrible.
God, I can't stand this band anymore.

Maybe you're just not cut out for Glassjaw.
Maybe they're just not that good.Yeah, that's it. You nailed it. I'll stop listening to them right now.
Or maybe you guys just have opinions that differ...That's the basic premise, and that's how it'll always be. End of story.
Or maybe you guys just have opinions that differ...
I think the studio songs sound quite natural. I think it might be just a lack of rehearsing.
the only one that has drums programmed all over the place is Junkies
you're right V, It was colouring book. I read something like what you say from the same source Caín, and I think it cassually alluded to Junkies (the bridge, which was taken from a live bootleg).
I remember also a fragment where they said durijah recorded the bridge to VSPoltergeist hours before being sent to replicate. What I understood is that beck writes everything, and then manny & durijah learns the material and gives it a bit of their touch ("Precise surgery"), but I guessed that It wasn't Beck who recorded everything. Do you have the source somewhere handy? i'd like to reread it.

Now that I've given both a dozen of attentive listens, I can safely say that EYEWTKAS absolutely beats the shit out of Worship & Tribute. That's just an opinion, I don't bring this as an established fact so don't go mad.
Even though I agree the lyrics can fastly sound immature to the majority, it's still the most sincere-sounding release of theirs. The intensity of those songs is untouchable (and that's a fact, don't tell me that Siberian Kiss is less intense than Mu Empire, Ape Dos Mil, etc.). Don't get me wrong, W&T is a great album, the musical work has more subtlety, but fuck, why would I lie, EYEWTKAS speaks to my soul, my heart and makes me go apeshit anytime. I enjoy W&T but the effect doesn't go that deep.
I've said that a couple of times but how do you go from this:
Glassjaw - You Think You're John Fucking Lennon - Dublin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLIHYpbYd8E#)
To that:
glassJAw - You Think You're (John Fucking Lennon) @ Stoke Sugarmill 26/08/11 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUNypTYbYFs#ws)
?
I have to disagree, man. I do think Coloring Book needed some violence but I also think it's a brilliant EP, with a very interesting sound.
Man, GlassJAw, another fucking killer band who went from awesome unorthodox post hardcore, then evolved into more poppy sound crap. Sounds familiar doesn't it? I just cant put my finger on who im referencing right now.......
Daryl was born with that shit. He sang awesomely from 06 to 09 and then all of sudden he would sing like shit because of a disease he's always had ? Dude, you know it doesn't even make sense.
People with Crohn's disease have flare-ups, they dont stay the same severity throughout their life.

Wasn't he straightedge or something ? Though I did see him drinking beers ....WAS is the important word here, he gave up on straight edge in his late teens/early adulthood when he realized that he wanted to experience things and that holding onto the ideals of his early teens was kindof stupid.

Yeah, I know... I saw them in London on March 2011, the only song they played off EYEWTKAS was, not surprisingly, Siberian Kiss.
So you've heard every song from EYEWTKAS? The title track as well? That's one of the most emotional songs I've ever heard.
The European GJ dates I've mentionned include a UK date but it's a festival. Hevy.
the whole show or just the coloring book? this is the coloring book dvd.

Am I the only one that thinks Daryl sounds horrible?
GJ played a tiny show in a London bar for 150 people as a warm up show of their tour with Coheed and Cambria.
I was one of the lucky 150. They played a first batch of old songs and closed the show with their entire upcoming new record. World premiere. I am deaf and I can't feel my legs.
All I'll say is that if you missed heavy GJ, you're going to be relieved.
Fully expecting this to be in the running for album of the year when it comes out. Don't know if that's my head or heart speaking.
Anyone listened to the Color Film album?
I don't how much longer they can make us copy and paste that last statement for.Anyone listened to the Color Film album?
Yep. Not really a fan, hoping we get some new Glassjaw soon.
I think they're going to release their first LP since Worship and Tribute. Reaaaaal soon.
It's not a leak, more like someone recorded the stream and passed the recording around. It's great but it's like a handycam shot of a new great movie played at the theatre. Not worth it.
Drums were recorded with Billy Rymer (Dillinger Escape Plan), Justin Beck probably performed both bass and guitars. I miss Manny and Durijah's groove but Chad Hasty and Travis Sykes really slay it. This band was always really Daryl and Beck, just wish they'd hire a second guitarist for live shows again.
New song is out, "Shira". A couple people said they sounded like Deftones but I disagree. It's not the first time though, I heard someone compare John Fucking Lennon to Headup.
"New White Extremity" from two years back will also be on the record. Comes out Dec 1st, pre sales are up and they got a release show happening in New York. Judging by the teasers they keep throwing out on Instagram, they could have a documentary being released.
It's pretty cool how they're really getting back in the circuit, now just announce the vinyl and the fucking European tour.

I think if you heard Shira by itself you could make that comparison, with the heavy dissonant guitar sound, groove and crooning but really glassJaw has been honing in on this sound since Coloring Book. I like it, but live it doesn't always translate so well. Last time I saw them Beck's guitar just sounded awful - I knew the songs and could barely make them out. I agree, they really need to have a second guitar player to properly play their older stuff but I don't see that happening.
I am genuinely stoked to hear this album (already pre-ordered it), I really like the track so far, it will be a nice early Christmas gift :)
