someone explain me about the chi concerts and stuff

there have been a couple right? with a lot of bands, including deftones? but i see on the youtube just this "whosoever" thing. people praying and shit. wtf? was that some special christian concert for chi? they made a documentary too (kind of sad the number of views are relatively low). whats that about? i suddenly see chi on m screen wtf. i just dont really get what that POD guy and Head are trying to do here, its like, you expect that from Chino and the guys. and the praying. if it wasnt a christian gathering i think thats really lame. ' you can raise all the money in the world but ultimately were here cause were believing god can do a miracle...' bla blah get the fuck of the stage. are they using chi's situation to force jeebus down our throats? chi laying there with a whosoever tshirt. really who the fuck are these people?

idk.. pretty strange to exercise christian acts at chi's benefit concert when chi is a buddhist.then they really don't care what he stood for and were into , they just do what they are into, selfish bastards. not that chi was a die hard buddist,getting drunk a lot, but still - slightly fucked up

that video popped up 10 hours after what you wrote, so personally, i probably would've expressed myself in another way seeing his mom there and all, but still... strange to do christian stuff like praying and showing crosses and what not at chi's thing when chi was a buddist.it's like me buying another dude i present I like for his birthday insted of a present he would appreciate... or me doing satanic stuff for a jew guy and go "why not? that's what im into?" better not do anything religious connected if they have different beliefs, talk about love and support or something insted

Its not like you wouldn't do it if you were there though. Would you stand aside and say " Nope not doing it, I'm an atheist ". Even if you're not religious any respectful person would pray too right?

exactly... i'm an atheist and i remember in high school when we had a "minute of silence" each morning over the P.A. for students to pray or whatever and i would just sit there with my arms folded over my chest and kinda look around the classroom rolling my eyes looking around at everyone, but if i was in a situation like this i would totally put my head down and say a prayer... i mean what the fuck that's totally disrespectful to not appreciate what these people are trying to do for him, regardless if you believe in what they're doing or not... i think all these people praying may indeed send some positive energy towards him, but not necessarily like "god" is going to just zap him all of a sudden with a full recovery...

fishwithbeavershoes first posted the text, without a link, and it was mostly that I reacted to, that head and the pod dude began to preach jesus - using the situation to get their christian message across. that would've been wrong. when the link then popped up, the text was a bit misleading - it feels like they really do something for chi, not so much own preaching for own personal gain so it wasn't all that bad. i should've looked it up before saying anything about it, not just taking one man's word for it. but I still think they could skip the christian spin on it. oh well

wow, im really dissapointed in some of you right now. And I am by no means a christian but fuck you should just be glad someone is praying for him. What have you done to help Chi out? Certainly not rally 1000 people together I'm sure.

once again... the first couple of reactions here are to the text, NOT to the video.this thread is messed up from the get go because more stuff (the video) was added AFTER people comments so it looks like people are commenting on the video which weren't the case i believe. therefore, if you come here now, it looks bad. the only person really thinking like that about the video is fishbeaver guy as i see it, because the text is his interpretation of the video. he has a little point, but it's way exaggerated i think
