Deftones - Root & Nosebleed (1994 Ross Robinson Produced Demos)

Ross Robinson produced a demo of these two songs in 1994.  Ultimately, they were not used for the Adrenaline album, and we got the Terry Date produced versions of the songs on Adrenaline instead (which are great).

As far as I know, these Ross Robinson demos were only ever released on cassette.

Does anyone know if it was released in another format?

There has been at least one rip of the cassette floating around for a while.  It is good enough to listen to, but there is some cassette noise and little quality problems at a few points, where the audio drops out or tape flutters.

Does anyone know if there has been more than one attempt to rip a cassette to MP3 or FLAC?  I would love to hear other rips if possible.

This account on Youtube posted a remaster of the common files that have been floating around.  This is probably the best I have ever heard the songs sound.

Anyways, just thought I would start a thread to see if anything else ever surfaces about the songs.

I would love to hear these added to an official album from Deftones, like "B-Sides & Rarities #2" or "Adrenaline Deluxe Anniversary Edition" etc...

Hey, the link that you posted is actually my video and I am currently working on a better remaster of that tape. Yes, I have the original FLAC files but they are pretty much the same quality as the versions on Youtube. To hear the demo in better quality, someone either has to digitize the original tape, or I have to do the best I can to restore most of the original audio quality. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, and thank you for posting the video.

Please let us know if you end up making a remaster of it.  I would love to hear it.

These sound good!

Hopefully some day, Deftones and Ross Robinson can get together and give this version of Root and Nosebleed a proper release on CD or Digital.

I'll just keep throwing the idea out in the world and maybe it will happen.  8)
