Totally agree.  It's all so loud with constant huge rock chorus and too much shouting.  It starts to sound too much the same.

Check the big wreck thread and joke questions will be joke answered

PS. Foo Fighters are the shit. Fantastic band even of completely safe, mainstream and radio friendly. I fucking love them.

Bingo.

Dave Grohl is an amazing musician and one of the coolest fuckin guys in the industry. Anyone who rates Foo Fighters anything lower than 10/10 need to get their ears checked.

Jacob

I love TCATS, but lost interest completely after that. I still like them, but somehow their music just stopped being interesting.

Crazylegs

Foo fighters are good and that. But it's like music made from a pop/rock recipe. They're the perfect gateway band from bieber to the dark/bright side.

I was just playing TCATS at my workstation and The song My Hero was playing. A customer came in and asked if it was Nickleback. WTF?!?!?

That's just awful.  :P

He then proceeded to claim that Nickleback and Foo Fighters sound the same. I wanted to face fuck him with my fist.

It's nice to finally see some people who share my lack of extreme enthuasiam for their latest.  It is still much better than Nickelcrap though.  Someone has the nerve to say that after hearing a TCATS-era song?  Wow, I can't blame you sing.  I could see it more with new FF (even though still definitely not), but absolutely not with old.

He deserves that for saying such bullshit.

The Foo Fighters can actually change their sound in some songs, unlike Nickelback, Hinder, Creed, etc.

And unlike Chad Krouger, Dave Grohl doesn't sound like a Kenny Chesney wannabe.

Edit: Scratch that. Dave Grohl isn't a Canadian Kenny Chesney sound-alike.

bewareofrats

Yeah, Grohl sounds NOTHING like idiot stick Kroeger, thank goodness.  There is one dead giveaway it's not Nickelback and yes, their sound has plenty variation.

I may not like pickles, but they still have a better taste in my mouth than Nickelback in my ears.

There's a good reason the pickles got more Facebook fans.

The film's aim is "to demonstrate the human element of creating and recording music", with a number of significant recording artists writing and recording "brand new original songs on the spot".

In other words (NOTE: the following statement is in half-excitement, half-jest), Grohl wanted to make a record with some people and it's allegedly going to be THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST

I enjoy Something From Nothing quite a lot.  More interesting than anything on Wasting Light.  The three new songs so far are making me more interested in the new album than I thought I would be.  I hope the variation continues throughout the whole album.  Congregation has a bland-ness about it but it's pleasant at the same time.  The bridge is also cool.  Feast and the Famine is higher energy/more up-tempo and a potential grower, not great though.
