I just want to hear Squarepushers remix of pink maggit so badly :)

;D

I honestly have no Idea how he will interpret that track. Squarepusher is an absolute madman at times.

I'd imagine he'd reign it in a bit. Not go FULL Squarepusher, if you know what I mean. haha.

In fact, they probably gave a few tracks each within reason, especially at the beginning. Like DJ shadow and the guy that's doing elite etc. I mean Robert Smith's version of teenager should sound great. You just can't really give him Korea or something you know what I mean? :D

/nods in approval - well played

Just heard the Passenger remix. I like that Stef's guitar was actually incorporated towards the end of the song - was worried his stuff would essentially be erased on the remixes.

In any case, kudos for Squarepusher for taking on the challenge. Pink Maggit has reigned supreme for me for over a decade.

Can't wait to hear what he does with it too.

sounds like something exectives would choose to put as background music for the trailer of their new video game

Had an email from Banquet Records to say my pre order has been updated and the new despatch time is April 2021 for the vinyl? Can't remember if I did not notice that at the time of ordering or not?

The Shinoda Passenger remix is decent, but I'm not really sure if the music blends well with Chino and Maynard's vocals. I'd be interested to hear it as an instrumental.

My main problem is I think it takes away from the natural power of the chorus.

I would strongly advice to reconsider expectations when going into Black Stallion. They're definitely trying to put out something that sounds modern and interesting, they're not just trying to please the WP faithfuls.

As a matter of fact, I love the remix that Mike Shinoda made of Enjoy The Silence, but I'd be damned if it sounds close to the original, I think it's much different.

I am however pretty hyped to hear what DJ Shadow did on Digital Bath. I'm biased with Endtroducing so I should revise my own expectations as well, but you know... very curious at least.

I don't really have any expectations for this project (well, except for The Boy's Republic being on the re-release lol, we can scratch that one), not in the way I would have expectations for a normal Deftones album. That's because it's just a remix album. I'm curious about some of them, particularly Clams Casino, Shadow, Phantogram, Robert Smith and Squarepusher, but if none live up to the originals, no problem. We'll always have the originals.

Happy, Chino? No expectations whatsoever!

I think I am mostly excited to hear Robert Smith if I had to be excited about it. It's kind of cool to hear someone remix a track by someone who literally worships the ground they walk on. Plus teenager to me is a very "Cure-like" song so I can totally picture Robert Smith doing it and I'm really wondering what the music is going to sound like behind him. Anybody know who produced Robert's teenager besides his parents?

Yeah ive been a Cure fan my entire life thanks to my mom and nanny growing up. That's one thing I got lucky with in life was the music I was constantly exposed to whether I knew it at the time or not if it was for me. It's weird that I kind of hid the whole I love The Cure thing until I was late in high school. My environment away from home wasn't very The Cure friendly. Great fucking frontman

Very wise words curbing your own expectation regarding DJ Shadow haha - I think as a whole it will be a pretty cool record as one package.
