KUSH
B-Real of Cypress Hill (Vocals)
Stephen Carpenter of Deftones (Guitar)
Christian Olde Wolbers of Fear Factory (Bass)
Raymond Herrera of Fear Factory (Drums)

These Fear Factory guys worked on some of the songs that ended up on Cypress Hill's 2000 album titled "Skull & Bones".

I think after jamming during those sessions, they decided to put together a band called Kush back in the early 2000s.  They recorded some songs, but nothing was ever officially released by a record label.

BAND HISTORY (TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA AS OF 08/18/25):

The project was first announced in 2000.
"Dr. Kush" was chosen as an alternate name in case the original band name was already in use.

In November 2000, it was reported that 7 tracks had been completed.

In 2001, B-Real expressed an interest in releasing the band's debut album by 2002 or 2003.

Kush performed at the 5th annual Cypress Hill Smoke Out in 2002.
They opened with a song entitled "Psycho Killer", one of ten completed tracks that were prepared for an eventual album.

B-Real stated that the band's music is "Unlike any other rap-metal type stuff. It's a little bit more aggressive. And the way I attack it from a lyrical standpoint is totally different from what I do with Cypress. Cypress is more street-orientated. With Kush, it's a little bit of everything."

In April 2002, it was reported that Kush had completed its debut album, but that it would be difficult to release because all of the band members were signed to different labels.

In November 2002, it was reported that the album was not completed, but that it was getting close to completion.

In 2014, during a Reddit AMA, B-Real indicated the project was stalled by "record labels fighting".

No material from the band has been official released through a label as of 2025.

Myspace has some remnants of a page for the band, which can still be accessed here in 2025:

THESE SONGS HAVE LEAKED ONLINE IN MP3 320kbps FORMAT.  IT IS UNKNOWN IF THEY HAVE EVER BEEN LEAKED IN FLAC FORMAT.

01 Light It Up!
02 Unstable
03 Satisfied
04 Psycho Killer
05 Change (Who I Am)
06 See Right Through You
07 Bomb's Gonna Drop
08 Show Me The Way (Sick Mind)

These songs are mixed well, but some songs are a little louder than others, so it does not sound like they were ever mastered together.  That made it kind of difficult to listen to.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ALL THE SONGS HERE!

I tried my best to edit the songs into a consistent sounding album.  I'm not sure if I would go as far as calling this "remastered", but here is a breakdown of the edits I made.

1.) Used Audacity to amplify 2 of the songs as much as possible without causing any clipping.
2.) Trimmed some unnecessary silence from the beginning and end of most of the songs.
3.) Used the Audacity feature called "Soft Limiter" to bring up the loudness further on 4 of the songs.  I did not "brickwall" them, so they are still pretty dynamic.  I just brought the loudness up enough to match the other songs.

The folder includes:

KUSH - 2002 - KUSH (0.0 UNEDITED) --- Listen to this if you want to hear the original files, before I made any edits.
KUSH - 2002 - KUSH (3.0 EDIT) --- Partial edit (2 songs amplified + trimmed unnecessary silence from songs).  If you want to make your own "remaster" by using a limiter or compression, these are good files to start with.
KUSH - 2002 - KUSH (6.0 EDIT) --- Listen to this if you want to hear my final edits, which sound like a consistent album.  They are tagged with song titles, custom album art, etc.  They are ready to add to your media player and jam out!

Here are videos of some of the Kush songs uploaded to Youtube.

These songs were all previously uploaded by other people.  So they may sound a little different from the edits that I made (in the download link in my posts above).
