This album has totally got the whole 'White Pony' vibe going for it.

Obviously it's going to be way ahead from WP but something just feels right about it.

I do not know if they have already seen these photos, recording the Diamond Eyes

You know as long as I've been a Deftones fan, (a pretty long time) I never took the time to realize that poor Abe's official name has TWO FUCKING HAM'S in it until I saw the first picture of him on that page.

He must've gotten fucked with in school.

Sushi-X

Anyone else hoping that they include at least one trip hop tune like they've done before? If they do i just hope its not like 'pink cellphone'

Rocket Skates '94

E-Money

Im hoping this album is completely different than their other ones.  I'd like to see less screaming and more experimental songs.  But ill be happy with anything cuz I love the tones!  I just hope they can reproduce it live like Rocket Skates!

hoburg hop, answers and that reggae stuff is like their first stumbeling steps as a band, they were like bambi on ice.
now that they are the fully grown deer as a band,no need to go back to that baby step period.thats ridicouls

???  how can it be "new" when they did that style 20 years ago ?

if they started playing reggae again, i would consider it to be "doing something old" insted of " something new" because they already did it a long time ago.

btw, i checked an interview with cranberries... they got a question of which their biggest influences was.. they said "the hoburg hop demo song by deftones is pretty much the only influence we got. we wouldnt start playing if it werent for that track.thanks deftones" they said

"new" influences would be cool,
but i for one still never got my fill of ATF style material.
it's the album i go back to and love the most (am i alone here?).
more "mature" than adrenaline but still totally raw, with KILLER grooves, and just such a cohesive sound (with the possible exception of Soulfly, which although i still think is great, is my least favorite on the album)

the reason i mention this is that i seem to remember reading ages ago that between ATF and WP the 'tones wrote alot of stuff that went right in the dumpster cuz it sounded too much like the previous. also i would imagine that in the studio while recording ATF there were other great tracks that didn't make the album, for example, two that we know of are Can't Even Breathe, and the ill-fated (never "finished") "Bumble D.

don't get me wrong, i know they always wanna move forward, and that's def. a good thing, otherwise we might not have WP etc., and i honestly love their entire catalogue,
but i wish they had recorded THAT stuff, at THAT time, with Terry Date, and with Chino's vocals ALMOST at prime but still raw and uncut. SORRY TO RANT, I'M A NOOB  (pent-up first post)
