nice

see anything you're unfamiliar with?

yes, most of the list ;D in particular

[1993] My Dying Bride: Turn Loose the Swans
[1994] Veni Domine: Material Sanctuary
[1997] Autechre: Chiastic Slide
[1997] Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects: Sol Niger Within
[1998] Bright Eyes: Letting Off the Hapiness
[1998] Extol: Burial

Ive heard of bride and bright eyes but havent actually heard,  but the rest....how do find the time to listen to so much music???? i considered myself a big collector but in you i def met my match. we dont always share the same tastes but my hats off to you sir!

haha, i'm lucky enough to have a job that also allows me the time to listen to music all day and have enough downtime to search for new music.

i'm always on the look out for something new. :)

a break down:

[1993] My Dying Bride: Turn Loose the Swans (one of the pioneers of doom metal, for years they had a violinist that was a member of the band.)
[1994] Veni Domine: Material Sanctuary (what i would call "power doom", as it's very proggy doom music with falsetto vocals and a choir.)
[1997] Autechre: Chiastic Slide (insanity. absolutely crazy electronic "idm".)
[1997] Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects: Sol Niger Within (solo work from the guitar mastermind of Meshuggah. a much more solo-laden work)
[1998] Bright Eyes: Letting Off the Hapiness (one of the rawest, most emotionally draining albums ever made. brilliant.)
[1998] Extol: Burial (a slice of black/death metal perfection.)

No numbering, just good mention-worthy albums.
very very generic. I'm such a post-2000 music guy :(

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral (a milestone in NIN creation. Dark, agressive, chaotic)
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile (very conceptual, very well crafted/mixed/mastered, emotional and creative)
Tool - Ænima (progressive, rhythmic, strong identity)
Mogwai - Young Team (I claim Mogwai Fear Satan to be the greatest song written in 90s)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada (absolutely unique, epic, creative and explosive)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F♯A♯∞ (gorgeous, dark, ambient, artistic, very innovative)
Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun (even though now I keep seeing this band as not that amazing anymore, but this album is very interesting)
Blindside - A Thought Crushed My Mind (an album to rock out, other albums suck kinda, but this one is something special. heavy, emotional)
Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing (early phases of getting into music for me; emotional, strong identity)
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children (intelligent trippy electronica - what's here not to like?)

RoyalDeftonicBoy

Not an easy task but here we go

NIN-The Fragile
Deftones-Around The Fur

Pantera-Vulgar Display Of Power
Sepultura-Arise (Their fucking besT!)
