it's these fanboys that use every single desperate argument they can think of, to make it seem chino or deftones never done some sellout shit that i think are funny. just look at deftonesnz, he can't even keep his stories straight, they change til the point that they contradict themselves. this wouldn't happen if he had a personal opinion of his own. instead, he changes his mind and arguments along the way, because defending deftones no matter what  - always comes first

Sell out will be if Deftones make featuring with Kanye West or something like that. I don't really see the problem with Chino recording vocals for songs he doesn't really like as long as Deftones remain true.

As to the income, I've read somewhere that Randy Blythe from Lamb of God is making 200k per year. It was in the news in regards of his arrest - his bail was based on his official income for a year - 200k. I can imagine Chino doing at least double then that.

But keep in mind if they hadn't done BTS the label could have dropped them or something, and this is back in the days where you really couldn't be independent. Not that easily anyway... And it's only one fucking song. They didn't make the whole album like that. Not only that I bet some people do like BTS. It's not like it's that far of a stretch from other Deftones songs... they still made it sound like them. And when they were done with that song, they went back to making bad ass shit.. And let's keep in mind they still released White Pony without it. I still have that album, it's actually the only copy of it I still have, with Boys Republic at the end. So no, I don't think they sold out.

People make music to make money. Period. They signed onto a major label to make money. People are in bands because they want that form of "art" to make them some money.

Chino made some money, yes, on those side tracks, but he did not, as your definition describes, compromise his personal values, integrity, or talent. It's not greedy to want to make money, its called SURVIVING. He's doing his job and that is to make music.
