Deftones in Honolulu 2/18/2011 w/ setlist.

Easily one of the most brutal shows I've ever been to.  I HURT head to toe.  Took lots of video & will sort through it one day.

I was front and dead center until Royal and I had them pull me out because I was moments from passing out. (I'm a wuss.)   But I made my way back up to the front and managed to get a pic of the setlist.  NOT LISTED: Back to School after passenger.

Oh, I also got the entire band to sign my diamond eyes vinyl before soundcheck! yay!

No team sleep.  And honestly I don't know what this fireworks thing is.  As for Risk: I was in a bad way between Royal and Beauty school. (I was almost ejected from the show*)  & The concert was so long I can't remember, man.  But I think they did NOT play it.  don't quote me.

* edited:  Low point of my concert experience:  I asked the security gaurds to pull me out from the front line during Royal due to dehydration and being nearly crushed to death.  I stood off to the side trying to steady my legs and my head.  And this JERK OFF adrenaline-crazed security gaurd tells me to keep going.  I wasn't steady enough yet to push my way through a crowd and told him I need to chill for a minute.  and He gets in my face so I say "Wait a second, fucker!"  So he pushes me through the crowd a bit and I trip over a step and fall flat on my ass and he starts screaming in my face "What did you call me?!?!"  And I push him back a bit in self defense which pisses him off even more.  So he starts dragging/ pushing me towards the entrance of the venue but I plant myself down in a chair so I don't pass out.  But the JERK OFF is abruptly stopped by a much older and Wiser security gaurd who saw I was in a bad way.  The Wise one escorted the jerkoff gaurd away instead! Haha!  I was really shaken up but regained my composure by Hole in the Earth.

haha pretty hardcore and tubulent, but fun experience afterwards perhaps. I usually stand on the side or back and chill, watching others tear each other to pieces ^ ^

Great show, nice long set list.  Notable songs for me were Passenger, Hexagram, and Be Quiet and Drive.  I never thought they would come back to Hawaii.  I moved here after they came here last, so it was great seeing them.  As for the security guards, you are not kidding.  I could see some of these guys were assholes from behind the "mosh" pit where I was.  I saw this one particular security guard jump over the railing into the crowd and into the mosh pit and it looked like he started choking some guy out.   Would not be surprised if it was the same jerk off you were talking about.

ok maybe it was lame, but ponyx is right, I will love Chino, and the whole band, no matter what they do.  I just hate when bands that aren't considered "mainstream" like lame, sucky Nickelback, start to do lame stuff and go "mainstream" it just makes me not want to be a fan. I mean the bands originality and coolness to me is all based on their "original" songs that they write themselves.  If I'm lame, I'm lame, but that's how I feel.

DUDE that's my thumb/ setlist! I remember you from the show, telling me how you got your vinyl signed and all that, and I let you take a pic of the set... how crazy! right on!  I also got to see them in Detroit too.  Got 3/5ths of the band to sign my Covers album there.  But having them all sign Diamond Eyes in Honolulu was one of the most surreal moments of my life.  They came out of their van and saw that I had vinyl.  I was sorrounded by deftones and each signed their soouls away to me.  One of them liked my grinderman shirt too.  Chill motherfuckers off the stage.

If you ever want to spin some deftones vinyl, let me know.  I live in Hawaii Kai.  Nice pics btw!
