depends what country you live in. the west love commercialising everything. easter isn't commercialised as much as christmas, and people are more about the bunny and santa than jesus. there's so much, "we don't want to offend people" going on when it comes to religious events, especially in christian populated countries. why can't we just share our festivities around instead of worrying about offending someone.

i'm looking forward to good friday. easter is my favourite time of the year. i don't have to give any gifts! i just make lots of vegan chocolate eggs for myself. at my house we light candles and spend a lot of time drinking wine and talking about christ. it's pretty great to belong to a religious family around easter and christmas. you don't notice the commercialising so much.

But it's going that way, from what I can see around me. The pressure to 'get together' and all. It's on.

man, don't say things like that. you're giving me heart palpitations.

i honestly believe that if it's not commercialised at your church and at your home then you're safe. it all just depends how your church is and how your household celebrates. christmas and easter is normal for my family. there's no sense of commercialisation involved and no sense of needing to get together so desperately. there's a lot of family feuding in my family but what family isn't feuding with one another? and 'getting together' is a good thing. if families are making an effort to get together for easter and christmas when otherwise they would go on without sitting down for a meal together, then so be it. it's miraculous, i'd say. praise the lord, hallelujah ect. but like i said before, my family is religious. my mum burns incense every saturday night and we all get down on our knees and shut our eyes to pray. well, some of us pray in bed while listening to red house painters *ahemguiltyahem*

i think it's a good thing that we are all aware that it is becoming commercialised in our culture and society but the question is, what are we going to do about it? if you know what the real meaning of christmas and easter is and celebrate it for the right reasons then hey, you got nothing to be upset about. it's a free country, people can exploit whatever they want to exploit. it's all about money sadly and there's big profits being made and cash being stuffed into people's pockets. the majority of those people don't even believe in god and whom christ was just a 'dude' for them so there's a tragic sense of irony there also.

Be more specific, are non of the USB ports working?

Softparody

I have 6 of them and it's so weird, 'cause my webcamera and digitalcamera works fine when I connect them, but when I connect music-devices or stuff then it won't. My iPod says it's connected and the ''connect-sound'' appears, but after that they are somehow ''gone''.. iTunes won't open and if I open it then the iPod won't show.. Fucking weird

@ Mazzy: Since I'm unable to quote you, it seems, I'll respond like this.
Wasn't intention to cause heart palpitations of course :)

It's just see it happening around me, people stacking up groceries and other stuff like the next war is about to begin. There is a meaning behind it all indeed, if for the the non-religious part to just get together with family and friends. Yes, it's a good thing, but for a lot of people it's an unnatural thing 'we have to do it', 'we have to have this and that and that and this and...'
And everything has to be perfect, which creates tension, for some people.
Guess everbody falls over it somewhere along the line.
I resent having to do groceries somewhere in the next few days, to get some bread or something, and be confronted with all those pigs.
