Did anyone notice in the album credits where Chino thanks his manager "for believing in my vision and helping me see it through"? Any thoughts on what that means?

He probably means like his work, maybe the record publishers want something else but chino says no and he gets support by his manager, as should anybody. Pretty sure thats what that means

I dont think the normal deftones fan base will like Gore, i keep seeing mixed emotions from non hardcore fans, saying its terrible and things like prayers is the best track on there lol

Just went to my local mom and pop and they weren't even going to have the vinyl in stock tomorrow. I was the first person that asked for it.  They said they would get it for me and I would have it tomorrow.  Pretty lame state I live in.

i kinda agree. i definitely get a creepy deepish vibe in the intro and verses of LMIRL, but the space rocky chorus totally undoes that feeling.

That was just some catchphrase from an interview. You know how they like to use big words to describe the stuff they're reviewing. It's never as litteral as that

while i respect your opinion i really really can't get why people are saying that this album is not heavy... is it just because chino's not screaming? to me it's heavy but its beautiful as well. really a perfect mixture of both.

This is where Franks words come into play. He said we all have our type of "Heavy" .. It may be heavy for some, but to others it may not be heavy at all.. I remember he said something like that in a recent interview

Yeah I never heard anything that sounded like a psychological thriller. I expected some sinister, quick tempo guitar that maybe screeched at times or sounded like a knife cutting through the air. The closest I hear to that is the heavy part of Geometric. That section does a really good job of building anticipation but doesn't quite sound like a psychological thriller.

Movies and video games are so much easier to review and explain to people. 100 people could tell you exactly what they think Gore sounds like, track by track and in full detail yet you will still only have a glimpse in your mind about what it might sound like. A few sentences on the other hand can spoil an entire movie or game.

Most casual fans probably think Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan is the best. Unless they're fans of heavier stuff or a different genre, I guess, but for the most parts, those have the most generally-appealing songs. Also not to criticise long-time fans that prefer those albums, just saying that they're easier to get into.

Yeah. For me, I don't consider songs heavy unless Chino is screaming. I know that's quite a narrow-minded view, haha, and I'm trying to get out of that way of thinking, because I've realised that singing vocals don't negate the heaviness and aggression of the music. But when people say songs like Diamond Eyes are heavy, I'm like "Whaaat? That song is one of the most radio-friendly ever," haha.

Doomed User is the only song on Gore I consider heavy and aggressive all the way through, really. The rest, they do have lots of heavy elements, vocally and musically, but not like Rapture or Hexagram or whatever. But that's OK because songs like that have always been a minority, usually it's always a mixture of both, ever since Adrenaline.
