More compression gives the song more punch, some people like it that way (which is responsible for loudness war). But I like the uncompressed version more indeed.

Totally! I haven't liked the launch of each song via radio. The quality is dreadful and doesn't give the true audio representation.

First post on a new username. Been around a while, just could never recover my pw.

The official download sounds MUCH better than what's been going around.

Sidenote: I was so upset about the original mix that I started messing with the levels on my computer, but I also increased the speed to play at 1.2 times the original tempo. I think it sounds bad ass just a little bit faster. Try it out.

But he did work on Eros. He's integral to that first era of the band. That's all I meant by that date range.
