Watched both Feast films back to back last night.  Laughed my ass off.

theis

is the sequel good?

i love the first Feast.

oldgentlovecraft

They definitely push the limits even from the first film.  It has a different feel, like a Tarentino film mixed with the first Feast, but I really liked it and laughed fucking hard a couple of times.  Also, the storyline picks up at the end of the first.

theis

haha cool, i'll check it out then.

you should check out Pathology. it's right down your alley.

oldgentlovecraft

I've read some excellent reviews, even though that doesn't always make a difference, but I plan on checking it out.

bright lights, big city

a buddy of mine picked up Feast 2, not as good as the first one, but still definitely worth watching. and i agree i laughed my ass off a few times during it

Watched Superbad and Blood Diamond.

Superbad was funny, the acting performances were good and it was overally a good comedy. But after reading some praising reviews I was expecting more and apparently too much. Just didn't hit my laughing nerve as much as, for example, 40 Year Old Virgin.

Blood Diamond was a great movie, rather entertaining but still thoughtful and probably realistic. DiCaprio has gotten 'better' from the times of Titanic and Djimon Hounsou was also really good. Though Jennifer Connelly wasn't bad, the love story between a rhodesian mercenary/smuggler and an american journalist was quite predictable from the beginning.

The Midnight Meat Train.

awful, awful, awful.

i'd really been looking forward this, but was a complete mess.

the CGI gore and ending ruined everything about this flick.

Damn, heard it was pretty good.  The story is awesome though.  Love Clive Barker.

yeah im really baffled about the positive reviews.

it's easily the worst movie of 2008. (and i'm a Barker fan too).

Finally watched it and I have to disagree.  It did well on following the short story and the ending was the same.  I remember the tongue ripping to be one of the most disturbing descriptions I had ever read in a book before and the only complaint I had was it was too short in the film.  Also, the CGI did not stick out enough to ruin the movie.  I liked it alot.

Saw Quarantine and absolutely loved it.  Intense, short, and sweet.  I need to hunt down [Rec] now.

theis

watched "the assassination of richard nixon".

once again, sean penn is amazing. my favorite actor.

tragic and very sad, but a really great and important movie.

Watched Burn After Reading. Fuckin funny movie, the performances were absolutely amazing. Pitt's character is so hilarious. The Coen brothers surprise me everyday.

Less Than Zero.
nice movie.
looking forward to reading the novel.

They made a movie out of that?? Shit, I had no idea.

Definitely read the book. Read ALL of Ellis' books. They're great.

very nice movie

pretty insane and mean spirited. entertaining though.

lostpilot

yeah, it's quite destructive.
and a bit chaotic, with the whole passing-by-timeline.

I need more good destructive movies.
Cause I just love quality destructive movies.

theis

have you seen Mystic River?

amazing flick. absolutely depressing and tragic, but it's one of my favorite movies.

i was disappointed with gone baby gone. it kept building and building...and then it ended. very un-climatic. it felt kinda pointless.

the scene in that house with the pedophile was intense though.
