I definitely feel that each Deftones album has its own character and feel but there is always this subtle hint of the Deftones personality running throughout the back of it that can be felt. I definitely feel this dichotomy with "Rocket Skates" and I have yet to listen to "Diamond Eyes" but I feel like the whole album will be congruent to the rest in this sense but I won't know until I hear it. So far, I'm feeling very positive about this album.

Argh, I can't fucken wait. Diamond Eyes is brilliant, I seriously don't get why people think their sound has gone? it's Deftones all over it and then some.

I'm trying not my best to listen to the new track Diamond Eyes until the album comes out...only heard Rocket Skates so far (which I'm really liking)...but can't understand all the hate surrounding the released songs, the yet to be revealed cover art, the sound of the album.  Most of these haven't even been released yet and there are already such strong opinions.  And even if you're basing your opinion solely on two tracks ... then yes the band changes their sound from album to album...and it's those leaps and chances the band takes that creates an album like White Pony...i mean each album has ALWAYS been drastically different. You may not like like SNW or the Self Titled - but there's no denying that they each had their own specific sound and feel to them...and clearly define each phase the band has gone through. So if anything I'm glad to hear and read that they're still trying newer and better things instead of re-hashing what they've already done and beating it to death to a point where I can't even listen to their original music anymore.  Just my opinion ...and it's great to see the band putting this much effort in trying to create some excitement for this album - because things were pretty slack and depressing around these parts in the last year or so after chi's accident.  So good shit - I'm fucking pumped for MAY 2010 and the supreme summer I'm going to have after it.

I used fan made cover with buildings of Indonesia as album art in my MP3 tags for the current two songs available, some other dude has the OG cover art on his signature though.
