The thing about Deftones album titles is there is usually an interesting meaning behind them. I wasn't crazy about "Eros" until Abe said it was something they picked up from watching German porn (which is hilarious). It might be the same with "Diamond Eyes".

And the guitar doesn't sound anything like Deftones normally would (but then again, neither did any of SNW).

Well I agree with you on Hole in the Earth lol...I just find it hard to compare anything from SNW and on to anything from self-titled and especially back. It's hard to accept that they sound so different now.

I dunno, I have a huge smile on my face, but I'm irritated and skeptical at the same time. It just sounds a bit like SNW part 2 in terms of "every instrument have to be as loud and clear as possible", but will end up in a sloppy mess... but fuck, nah, I'm just extremely excited/nervous.

I mean, just imagine THIS tight as fuck guitar sound with other (slow and more atmospheric) songs from this album! And the song chino meantioned in the spin interview: "It's very... sludgy, like a chainsaw-type of riff but very slow."... what! the! fuck!!! *excited*
