Got a shipping notification for Gore from Deftones store.  Super stoked to hear this beast on wax

Yeah around 10am this morning. The state for my order now says "shipping" did you order the numbered 180 gram black or the standard white?

I ordered a 180g...not sure if it's black or white. I think white, because I preordered whatever sold out at first.

the 180g is black, the regular edition is white

When I got the shipping email i expected to log on and see everyone talking about how excited they were that this rollercoaster ride has almost come to an end..

the intro to hearts wires is the best thing I've heard so far on this album, sadly it's more of just an interlude - closely followed by the second part of phantom bride.

generally I'm not that taken by the record, Stephen seems absent and it wouldn't surprise me if he agreed to play what ever chino told him by the sounds of it. Chino's voice just isn't the same voice that hooked me all those yrs ago, strained is the word i'd use...

Anyway, theres some nice noises and abes drumming is interesting, as are franks bits when the mix lets him cut through. Overall its more artistically ambitious than KNY, it has a definite 80's vibe in some sections, which is really unusual to hear on a deftones record and pretty cool to boot.
