Deftones - private music (Album Thread)

I went to all 3 UK shows and man every one was insane but I did find it amusing nobody clocked the meaning of this poster in London...I was freaking out 

Oh, I noticed it too and immediately jumped on here.

At first I thought it was just a company name so had to jump on here to ask.

Had an amazing time. Thought the band was exceptional but, from where I was, thought the sound was astonishingly poor. Was there with my 15 year old daughter and my wife. All got a bit too hectic for my wife but my daughter and I had a wild time. Thought the group we were standing with were really into it and considerate. How about you?

I've got this weird feeling it could be something totally different—but it's probably a single, not an album title. Definitely doesn't sound like an album.

With all the secrecy, the snake imagery, Chino Moreno saying he has a secret, and that title... it kind of feels like they don't want people to hear it!

But maybe it's just about the album diving into new themes—maybe something more vulnerable. That might be what they meant when they said old fans would love it. I feel like the core Deftones fans have always had a deep emotional connection to their more layered songs. I mean, it's not like we'll ever hear them play Fireal live again.

Makes me wonder if they didn't actually rework some stuff from Eros into this (unlike with Diamond Eyes, which turned out to be false)... though maybe that's a bit of a stretch.

Anyone else got thoughts on this?

As far as if its the album name, single name or nothing at all, I just cant tell. It really could be anything for all we know.

It having eros material is a reach, I'd assume not but im not gonna entirely take it out of question. They're bound to release eros stuff sometime. But I think that time is yet to come

At this point my head is running wild with theories. They have been expanding their brand over the years, and the "distributed by deftones" part seems odd because the label owns the music. Whatever is happening, this is exciting AF!

I don't believe Eros will have anything to do with "private music" or the new album. I'd love to be wrong, but I think EWros, if revisited, will be an end of career decision. Like release it with a boxset.

Regardless....things are finally happening and I am ready for this ride!

I wouldn't be surprised. Literally already seeing that with the new "album title". People were like "Private Music? I hate it" and then less than 24hrs they're like "hol' up they're cookin. It's genius."

Someone posted this on Reddit. Looks like the official high res version. Compare the fan photo to this side by side and you'll see the font is a match.

It doesn't look exactly the same to me. Where would they have gotten that from? And where's the post now?

Looks pretty darn close to me, even the I in between the an and the t is identical.

The thickness of the round parts of the letters, the p, the a with the elongated belly, the S that looks like a snake.

No idea where they found it but it looks to be the official one

It's definitely not rehashed songs. They're excited about this new album. Knowing the bands history they seem to move on quick from old stuff so I don't see this to be a collection of old songs rearranged.

It was literally me, and i didn't delete anything, the post got locked by itself idk why... I found that photo on an instagram page called deftonesarchive. I just posted it because it was really similar to the one they used... idk where they found it tho.
