If the band is distributing it themselves maybe that's why this rollout is so different.

I noticed this too. They're certainly big enough to DIY their next album. Could be what's taken this album longer than they originally expected? I also wonder if this has anything to do with the phrase "Private Music."

Based on the available information, it appears Deftones are currently not under a record deal and are operating as "free agents" as of April 2025.

Could "Private Music" be their own label name?
One last Thing...You Should Beware the Content!!

Thank God that you........ love..... at all.

Could be "Private music" the name of their new own label, instead of a single or album title?

StarSlinger

According to Google - Private Music was an American independent record label founded in 1984 by musician Peter Baumann as a "home for instrumental music". So it's likely not the name of their own self-publishing, but it could be a reference or a clue?

Isn't their publishing "my rib is broke." Also bauman formed tangerine dream, 80s electronic group. Likely a nod from Chino.

Thanks for this. I was going fucking crazy skimming the "New Deftones Music" timestamp trying to find where he specifically says August..Didn't know it was in the Everlast Album one..

But HOLY SHIT. This feels good man..

sharinglungs

And I don't think he was mixing up words by calling songs records.

He says he's got a record coming out in August and he's heard 3 songs from that record.

So, in just over a week we should get our first taster of the album.

I think the "time machine" thing is a bit of a misnomer in so much as I'll bet that Everlast is referring to the energy of the songs he's heard rather than them being like Around the Fur type tracks.

Obviously, I'm hoping for some good old heaviness on the new record but I also hope there's some nice atmospherics too.

Yeah, I think you're right. He specifically said the band sounded "youthful" on the songs he listened to. That tracks with their live performances lately. I felt Chino in particular, looked, behaved, and sounded more youthful than he has in 10+ years when I saw them back in March.

I wonder if/when they'll start to tease the single of it will just drop on the 10th with the album announcement.

Dawnofwar2010

When does deftones go on in Denmark and will there be a livestream?
"Frozen in time
Sinking underground
I've thrown out fear
I've shouted these hymns
I kept drowning
Kept nothing
I kept trying
Kept floating"

Midnight local time, and sadly there is no official livestream.
For a 1000 days, you've been staring away...

Draken

Well they're sure as hell good at keeping their music private, at least this time.

Hey y'all

I don't think this is going to be a single. It's more likely to be an announcement or maybe a listening party.

I doubt it, if the new record is coming out in August, then the single next to come asap...and according to that "private music" with the Roman numerals and shit...it'll happen on the 10th.
And all the days I've missed you 🍂

Do we know for a fact or are just assuming Fred Sablan played bass on this record..

HeadInTheLouds

I'm not sure. You're probably right, in fact, I thought it was painfully obvious that this was going to be a single but looking back, maybe it is a bit too obvious?

You would think they'd tease a single on their social media first, where they can reach their global fanbase directly. It seems strange to rely on fans posting photos from a live show to spread the word.

Also, why wouldn't they release it on a Friday? I understand if they're independent now, but I don't see them ignoring industry norms just for the sake of it. Releasing music on a Thursday seems unlikely without a specific reason.

My guess is that it will be something different, and then the singles will follow soon after. Still, something about this whole situation feels a bit off.

They posted a band pic with him a few weeks ago on social media. It's him. And rumor is Lance will also have some parts on the album.
