Kick Ass: 7 out of 10 good movie but not amazing or anything.
Chopping Mall: by all rights it should be a 1 out of 10 tops, but i'm giving it a 7 because of my own terrible taste. a good movie to watch drunk with friends and just tear apart.
The Stepfather: 0.5 out of 10. the scene with the main character crying on his bed to a puscifer song ruined my day.

Lol I own Chopping Mall as an old, 80's style VHS copy.  Good shit.

I watched About a Boy earlier today. Brilliant film. I thought Marcus was so adorable, yet so heartbreaking at the same time. In a lot of ways I could relate to him. And the chemistry between Marcus and Will was fantastic, and made for some ridiculously humorous scenes together. Overall, it's the kind of film that makes you feel good, and is definitely something worth seeing.

eff, it was so bloody good.

great soundtrack.

really funny. i thought i wasn't going to enjoy it at all but i freaking loved it. the dialogue was spot on. the part where his friend says something horible about the cd he lends him was fantastic. "first of all, they is a he..."

i was right. robert pattinson is only super shite in twilight. oh why did he do that to himself!

Oh, thank God! I'm not the only one who thinks this. He was great in How To Be, Little Ashes and Remember Me. The guy knows how to act, but maybe he's forced to act super shitty in the Twilight franchise. He really shouldn't have gotten himself involved with that.

and he's actually good-looking. he's absolutely horrible looking in twilight. making him that pale accentuates the fact that he has a very flat face.

maybe he can redeem himself from playing edward...i mean, he's not even a kick arse vampire or anything.

Very true. I love pale, but not deathly pale. He looks too much like a girl in that series --  it's creepy!

I saw Whatever Works and Happy Campers this weekend.

Whatever Works was good, but I always seem to have a problem whenever Woody Allen makes everyone who doesn't hail from New York into a) someone who is shallow b) someone who is stupid or c) all of the above. I guess it irked me a bit that he made these people from the South into  "inchworms" who knew no good. Stereotypes can be funny, but when Woody Allen does it it just leaves a really bad taste in your mouth. You know he's an elitist, and after watching this movie I came to the realization that I'm some what of an elitist, too. But I get the feeling he's just rubbing our faces into it. Otherwise, I enjoyed the film.

Happy Campers I felt was trying to be touching and playing up teenage angst. It wanted to be both so desperately, but managed to just be one thing -- mediocre. It just reminded me how great of an actor Brad Renfro was, and it's shame he never got recognized for his talents.

bright lights, big city

I really enjoyed Whatever Works, his writing was back on par with his older films and Ed Begley was great as usual.

i must be the only person who has absolutely no interest in woody allen's movies. except for the one that had judy davis in it, but even then my reason for liking it is biased...

Me too, not too bothered about them to be honest.

Time to dig out Futurama movies tonight.
