Don't you feel that sometimes you're tired of music?

From time to time it happens to me. Now i'm again this way. I was, as usually, choosing what music to play (i always listen to music when i'm at home), and realised i don't want to listen to anything. old stuff: boring. new: annoying. Hardcore: too noisy, ambient: oh, i get bored.

I know tonorrow or the day after it will all end... But now i can't stand music

does it happen to somebody else?

Yes, it does happen to me.
And you described the exact same situation - I just get too bored for old stuff, having no will to try out new music.. But, then again, after aproximately two hours I eventually turn something on and the feeling goes away.

cast so cool

Happens to me, but then it makes the re-discovery of something I havent listened to in ages that much sweeter.

When you learn to play an instrument, you also learn to love the silence. you shouldn't abuse music, because then It'll have no effect.

Starz

Yes this happens to me from time to time. Then suddenly I will discover a new band or artist and fall in love all over again...

whodunit?

I think it happens to all people interested in music.

However, for me it's just a state when I'm tired of searching for new things. When I hear new thing, I either dig it and spend a lot of time discovering the artist, or just go back to old music because the new stuff is terrible.

Yeah, sometimes when I play my guitar (and I do it almost everyday), after few hours of playing I find myself just holding the guitar, the amp buzzing silently while I am staring through the window, daydreaming about the horizons.

Silence comes in its own ways.

Listening to music is a fluxuating thing for me. Sometimes I love any bit of noise I can get my speaker to ejaculate, sometimes I like it as background noise, and sometimes the thought of music makes me want to throw a baby through a store window.

I think everyone agrees that feeling "tired of music" doesn't last much longer than a day. Especially for hardcore music-lovers like us.

yeah same here.

this is not true for me. virtually all of the music i listen to is attached to some great memory or time of my life, so listening to the same, old music over and over, never gets boring for me. i usually just get tired of music that has no weight or connection to anything. sometimes, i'll purposely put off listening to new music just so i can find a moment to connect it to and make it enjoyable forever.

stop treating music as just ear candy and you will find a whole new world of appreciation for it. listening to music just to listen to it will make you grow weary of it. a-duh.

This usually happens when I sleep in the middle of the day.

I usually turn some calm music on (post-rockish-ambientish-calmness), turn the volume down and go to sleep. When I get asleep, I'm kinda happy with the music playing, usually it makes me dream something good, but when I wake up too early, the music pisses you off (because it always seems to be too loud).

ignore the fashion

yeah this happens to me sometimes, just not in the mood to listen to anything old or new.... so silence it is.

sometimes i just dont want to hear anything
same here.
i get tired of music.
like, i used to listen to music while i was running, and now i hate it. i like to zone out with just me and my thoughts when im jogging.
same with walking around campus, most people are always plugged in but i like to hear the subtle sounds of life around me; the scratching of feet, clothes moving in step, faint talking, cars, the train.
and then i like silence. complete.

bless.

Now and then i'll scroll through my ipod and find nothing i wanna listen to... when i tell people, they say its hard to believe having over 30gb's and not one thing is appeal.
I've got a good mix of stuff too.. but, as said.. everyone gets in that mood where its all just... Not appealing.

i like to venture back to Linkin Park or old school Incubus when that happens. Stuff from that era or so.
