Okay, so I decided to join in on this.

Mainly because I just discovered this balls-to-the-wall kickass album.

Genre: Sludge/Hardcore

I finally took the time to listen through this little bad boy. Really energetic sludge band. I've been into a lot of different sludge bands recently, so this was perfect for me right now. I'll definitely spin this more than once.

Genre: "Avant-garde/Jazz/Drone/guy with a sax"

Almost all of these tracks were recorded in one take with very little overdubbing. Most of the time when you're hearing 3-4 instruments (including percussion) it's just one guy on the sax, using an arrangement of microphones = mindblowing stuff.

Enjoy.

Cool! Let me know what you think.

Crazylegs

I didn't get all the way through it. It was a bit abstract for my taste.

theis

Oh okay...fair enough.

If you ever decide to give it a second chance then wait till it's dark and listen to it with headphones. It creates a great mood.

Crazylegs

noted. I'll leave it in my itunes library.

Horisont - Två Sidor Av Horisonten

Another great band from Sweden.

For fans of: Graveyard, Witchcraft.

Crazylegs

I've been listening quite a lot to the struck by lightning album lately. It gets better everytime.

Hell yeah! Especially Kvelertak and Intronaut. The first song from the new Kylesa was a little underwhelming, but still looking forward to hearing the whole thing.

Btw Mark, you should also check out that Hatesphere album. One of the few (current) great metal bands from Denmark. I think you'll dig it.

Here's a taste (awesome video too):

Hatesphere - To The Nines - UNCENSORED VERSION

speaking of Intronaut, how was the Meshuggah show brights? must've been one hell of a night with Intronaut and Animals As Leaders

bright lights, big city

I dig that Hatesphere song. Gonna DL their shit now.

Meshuggah fucking destroyed. Animals as Leaders was good as usual, and I missed like half of Intronaut since my friend was late. But jesus, seeing Meshuggah was incredible, glad I finally saw them. Would've been really interesting if they still had the singer replaced with a blow up doll or cardboard cut-out though, haha.

And sadly I missed out on BTBAM a few days before that. But they usually come around 2-3 times a year, so I'll get em next time.

Theres always multiple chances to see an American band if you're American I suppose ;)

Good to hear that Jens was back for mic duty and it was an awesome show, I am also looking forward to seeing these guys in late April / early May. My first and thus far only Meshuggah concert was in 2008, I went alone cause my concert-buddy was sick, and I got high at the show... not really the type of concert to witness paranoid, but it worked fairly well. ^^

sry for the off topic talk. East Of The Wall is a good band, I remember listening to their first album Farmer's Almanac a lot but lost track of this band. Gonna listen to The Apologist.
