Yeah, you really get attached to it. It becomes a member of the family. That might sound crazy to non-dog people, but it really feels that way.

It all happened so sudden too; She's been more lazy than usual within the past 2 weeks. I didn't think anything of it. Then I noticed that her belly was sort of swollen. We went to the vet and she said that it was a serious infestation in her uterus. She was too old for operation (she'd either die during or survive and have massive pains for the rest of her short life).

So she got put to sleep...

A few years ago my dog was out running in the yard and playing as usual and just stopped, laid down, and never got up again. He was only 7 and it was one of the worst days of my life. So sorry to hear.
