Deftones - private music (Album Thread)

I've mostly been going through different songs just to compare the production and mixing. I've come to the conclusion that Private Music from the 2 singles at least is perfectly dialed in and shows off every element of the band. It's similar to KNY but the way Chino sits in the middle really adds to the sound..his voice is used as another instrument. It needs to be heard through a proper speaker setup or studio quality headphones to really appreciate the dynamics

I do wish his vocals were a little louder in the mix, but I don't hate the way it is at all. I'm a huge fan of shoegaze music like Slowdive, MBV etc.. so I enjoy that style of production. It's already grown on me with the two singles. Its more so just out of curiosity that I would like to hear a version with his vocals a bit louder.

I totally get that because the mixing is definitely a shoegaze style. It sort of reminds of Sunbather by Deafheaven. A wall of sound and distortion but the clarity is there you just have to pay attention lol

I'm trying to remember the time scale for Gore leaking.

I think it was the Saturday before that someone started passing round two or three songs from a poor vinyl rip on here; by the Sunday morning it was the whole album. I think I remember listening to it early afternoon UK time.
