My birthday is tomorrow. This day last year if you would have told me I would not hear any new Deftones before my next birthday, I would have told you that you are fool.

In all seriousness though, I would be ecstatic if Deftones had a song, or even a part of a song that leans into like funk, r&b, or disco. Basically something that makes you really wanna dance. Something like Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa's album Peach Club, Nightlife. I don't think they would ever go that route, not even for a section of a song. I can dream though. If we go by Danny Keyes' comments and the hints he's dropped in this thread, it seems like he's telling us the release date has been pushed back to November after speaking with chinos son. It would be appear maybe there were issues with the mix (like Gore). This seems to tally with Stephen saying it's still being mixed and they had an original release date planned. I'm just speculating here and he could also be trolling.

I know they'll never do it, but it would be cool if they just released a single/lyric video on a Friday, no announcement, make it a premiere, don't put anything on the video description, no album title, release date, nothing. Then after the premiere, they do a live stream, "hey guys, that was our new single "blah blah blah" available right now on all streaming platforms, we're here with Frank Maddocks and he's going to reveal the cover art for the new album  which is called "********". Then they do a presentation of the album art, band photos etc.. then they show the back cover of the album and reveal all the track titles, and then at the end of the stream they reveal the release date
