Today i bring you two albums.
First off
The Walkmen - You & Me (2008)
genre: Indie/alternative
Sounds like: a little reminiscent of deerhunter at times
I never listened to these guys before i saw this (absolutely brilliant) videopart
Austyn Gillette OriginI just got curious and downloaded the album. Do the same if you're feeling it, i wasn't let down.
And now, for the main course:
Slint - Spiderland (1991)
genre: experimental rock
Sounds like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yEgcb167k4
From what i understand, this is somewhat of a cult classic. I hadn't heard of them until a few months ago, i was just cruising rateyourmusic.com and browsing through the top rated albums, and this one was at like 120 or something. I just decided to check it out, and it was pretty good. I'm not too fond of the spoken word parts, but other than that it's pretty much gold all the way through, i always put it on when i'm on long bus or train trips.
