According to a friend who was at the show, they played Rivière before Change.

I think Fireal was only the first part as usual, and Rivière was probably the same. Just used as an intro to Change.

Only the first part of Fireal but he said Rivière was played in its entirety.

Almost entirely. They left out the last little quiet part.

Yeah, Chino had a hard time finding the right frets I think.

TheShade1989

Mistakes, but still sounds beautiful and hopefully they'll play it again in full. I love that the setlists are still full of more or less the same songs, but they decided to play Riviere all the way through. Hopefully this is the start of more of this happening. I doubt it, but it'd certainly make everyone happy if they did.

I could see it being a bit complicated to get the dynamics and whatnot of it down.  It sounds a bit rough but good to hear nonetheless.  Some of Chino's singing in it sounds pretty good.  Hopefully they'll work on it and continue to play it.  That would be a great surprise for this tour.

Also, play some more off SNW.

is it really that hard to play?

Not really. I consider myself an novice to average guitarist and I can play it. But... I'm not singing while I'm doing it.

Vesanic

Same happened when they played Combat in Amsterdam, lots of mistakes.

Vesanic

Rivière sounds immense...

Added a couple of videos to the show post, including Bored and Poltergeist.

and

You nailed it... I think between this song and Combat it was one of those pieced together songs while it was written, where Chino recorded the vocals seperately without playing ( obviously in the vocal booth) along  in the studio and at certain chord changes it's difficult for him to smoothly let his vocal melodies free in those songs while playing guitar and singing live.  So I think thats why they dont play them as much.. I know they just wrote an album and all, but if they'd at least practice these songs once in awhile so they're comfortable playing them more often in a live setting.

They tried Rivière quite a few times during the soundchecks since SNW came out, they tried it before this Ventura show too, and Chino played a snippet of the song twice during the DE tour, he seemed comfortable with it.
