listened to the first 3 tracks so far.

transcription's gonna take a minute due to the mixing, but i REALLY like how the mixing sounds on these. particularly, ecdysis gave me "oblivion" from grimes vibes of all things (?!?!?) and i really fuck with infinite source's riff and mixing.

from what i have transcribed, the lyricism pulls HEAVILY from S/T + SNW + its sister albums DE and KNY as well as having traits of both (heavy, back-and-forth riffs + instrumentation). HEAVY "lovers" vibes   

i was right that the north american tour's post-genesis instrumental was an easter egg...

Yeah, it's more of the chugging steph is doing right before the song really starts on FOD, that's what I'm hearing.

I can't wait, but I will. FOD is one of the great mysteries of their music for me as far as having an official release. The many versions is one of the reasons that is probably the biggest song that intrigued me even over Eros. I think I started shaving when I got obsessed with that whole thing and I'm 44 now. I could be off with that analogy but you get what I mean I never give up hope for it but I have.

Yeah, the Ezrin demos were so good. It's crazy that Melanie and FOD never made an album cut.

So far, for me, it sounds like ST/DE/KNY are having a threesome. I really didn't like cXz at all when I first heard it, now I'm starting to really dig it.

well wouldn't you know it, i'm about to listen to cXz! let's see if it'll be an instant hit or a grower (i don't think i've ever met a deftones song that couldn't grow on me no matter what yet, but i also haven't given a few a spin yet...idk i just get weird about listening to every song in a musician's discography?)

Every album has a vibe. PM is like wise, happy and even heartwarming Deftones.

It's only been a few hours, but it's so good. Full of surprises but cohesive and such an *album* in the truest sense. Deftones are so fucking back.

This blows Ohms and Gore out of the water. After two listens, I can't say that it's as good or better than DE and KNY, but it's in the fucking conversation, and everybody should be ecstatic about that. It could for sure jump above those 2 records one day for me.
